FOP Lodge #78 Junior Police Academy The Academy is FREE OF CHARGE to sixty (60) participants ages 8 yrs - 15yrs based on the application that is required. D.W. Messenger.

You can pick up an application from the Clarksburg Police Dept and it must be returned ASAP. Forms that are filled out incorrectly or incompletely will be discarded, so double check the forms before submitting them. They may be returned by mail, fax or hand delivered to the Clarksburg Police Dept c/o Sgt. The Academy will be held at the former Gore Middle School, now the Harrison County Alternativ

e Learning Center. The Junior Police Academy will be divided into two groups:

Ages 8 - 11 will attend July 11-15th. Ages 12-15 will attend July 25-29th. Both Academies' will run from 8:00am to 4:00 pm

ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BE PICKED UP NO LATER THAN 5:00 PM. Snacks and lunch will be provided daily.

The prep work takes weeks.
The days are exhausting.
Endless questions.
Rain. Heat. Humidity.
Messed up lunch orders.
Playing kids games wayyy beyond your prime.
Wondering why you’re ready for bed at 7pm each night.

And we wouldn’t trade it for anything. We were each reminded in some small way why we do what we do. For me, it was a heartfelt speech from a cadet that had me smiling and tearing up all the way home.

Thank you parents for trusting us with your kids this week. And thank you cadets for every exhausting but satisfying moment. See you next year!!
