🐝 Multiplication Bee at DECS! 🐝

We held our Multiplication Bee last Friday and our students showed off some seriously impressive math skills! From quick thinking to staying calm under pressure, our participants represented their classes with confidence and determination.

We are so proud of their hard work and bravery…it’s not easy to be up there!

First Annual DECS Spelling Bee 🐝✨

Last Friday, our 3rd–6th grade students took the stage for our very first Spelling Bee, and they were incredible! From start to finish, we saw courage, focus, and amazing sportsmanship.

We are so proud of every student who stepped up to compete—you represented DECS so well! 💛

This is just the beginning…we’re already looking forward to making this a tradition! 📚🐝

Garden Club in the DECS garden today looked a little different… 🎨

Ms. Rae hosted a Claude Monet–inspired Japanese garden bridge painting session, and our students created some beautiful masterpieces surrounded by nature. Art and the garden make a pretty perfect combination.

🌱 Back in the Garden! 🌱

After a long winter, it was finally time to get our DECS Learning Garden growing again! Students rolled up their sleeves for our first garden day of the season, helping prepare the beds by pulling weeds, refreshing the soil, and starting to plant.

There’s something special about getting students outside and learning with their hands in the dirt. Gardening teaches patience, teamwork, and responsibility while connecting students to where their food comes from.

We’re excited to see what this season brings as our garden begins to grow again! 🌿

We are so grateful for the partnership and support from Husick’s by Forester! 💛

Earlier this year, Husick’s hosted a Dine & Donate to help support our 6th grade trip to Shady Creek Outdoor School. Thanks to the generosity of our community, the event raised $500 for our students.

Because of that support, our 6th graders were able to experience an incredible week at Shady Creek—exploring the outdoors, learning science in nature, building friendships, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

A special thank you to Chef Matt and the entire Husick’s team for supporting our students and community. We are so grateful for partners who believe in investing in our kids!
