Our second graders went on an Instrument Scavenger Hunt, exploring the music room, discovering instruments, and learning their names, sounds, and families along the way.

And those squeals when they found one?! 🥹💙

This is what learning can look—and sound—like: curiosity, movement, discovery, laughter, and kids who are genuinely excited about what comes next.

Today, our 4th–6th grade Coyotes took their turn at our Book Tasting and sampled their way through different genres, explored new titles, and hopefully discovered a few books they can’t wait to read! 🐾📖

Our Book Tasting is officially complete, and we loved seeing students excitedly browsing, talking about books, and adding new titles to their reading lists. What a fun way to kick off Accelerated Reader and celebrate our year of literacy! 💙

A huge THANK YOU to the Clarksburg Library for partnering with us and helping make these two days such a special experience for our students. We are so grateful to have such an amazing community partner! 📚❤️

Today, our K–3 Coyotes had their reservations for our AR Book Tasting! Students “sampled” books from different genres, explored new titles, and hopefully found a few books they can’t wait to devour! 😋📖

A HUGE thank you to the Clarksburg Library for partnering with us and helping make our Book Tasting extra special! 💙📚 We are so grateful to have such an amazing community resource supporting our young readers.

🐝 Multiplication Bee at DECS! 🐝

We held our Multiplication Bee last Friday and our students showed off some seriously impressive math skills! From quick thinking to staying calm under pressure, our participants represented their classes with confidence and determination.

We are so proud of their hard work and bravery…it’s not easy to be up there!

First Annual DECS Spelling Bee 🐝✨

Last Friday, our 3rd–6th grade students took the stage for our very first Spelling Bee, and they were incredible! From start to finish, we saw courage, focus, and amazing sportsmanship.

We are so proud of every student who stepped up to compete—you represented DECS so well! 💛

Garden Club in the DECS garden today looked a little different… 🎨

Ms. Rae hosted a Claude Monet–inspired Japanese garden bridge painting session, and our students created some beautiful masterpieces surrounded by nature. Art and the garden make a pretty perfect combination.
