Our crew went into Lincoln H.S. this summer and painted the library and librarian's office

Our Community Service Crew will be at St. Mary's Elementary this Friday to do some landscapping before the students return for the school year. I will post pictures Friday afternoon. Btw, we have been performing work at St. Mary's and Notre Dame for the past four years. Work has included painting hallways in Notre Dame and nearly every room, all the lockers, every door way, all three hallways and every entrance way in St. Mary's. Thanks to Nicole Folio for allowing our workers to perform the work this Friday. This allows our clients to "pay back" for that which they have taken. It gives our clients an opportunity to build skills and work a full day; which many have not done in their entire lives. The road to recovery is messy, painful, and difficult. Becasue of the opportunities provided by Principal Folio and many others, the path is made smoother and encourages sobriety. Thank you Nicole and Suzanne Shaffer!

The Harrison County Community Corrections Advisory Board is now one member larger.

Three of us will be travelling to Charleston this Friday for a training session on how to reduce recidivism. Recidivism is the rate which previous offenders recomitt crime(s). One of our goals is to reduce the incidence of recidivism by providing evidence-based programs, appropriate structure, supportive services, and overall supervision for clients sentenced by our judges and magistrates. We will post pictures on Friday of the training and post links to community resources. Hope everyone is staying warm today and driving slowly.
