With the threat of accumulating snow and the possibility of brutally cold temperatures in the near future for the Clarkson area, Chief Buck Meredith would like to remind all Clarkson residents to please keep a check on your family and neighbors during this time. Please pay closer attention to the elderly and the sick.
Chief Meredith and the CKPD officers will be glad to conduct wellness checks during the inclement weather on such residents. Feel free to contact Clarkson City Hall to request the wellness checks at 270-242-6997.
CKPD officers will also be making sure that all outside pets have a dry, covered place with bedding that they can go inside to stay warm as well.

A big thanks goes out to everyone who has helped make this year’s Clarkson Police HoHo with the PoPo another success. No matter the amount, big or small, all contributions were greatly appreciated!
A big thanks goes out to the Leitchfield Dairy Queen Grill and Chill for allowing the Chatterbox girls and CKPD the opportunity to serve customers in exchange for a sizable portion of the proceeds, along with the Blue Steel LE/MC Kentucky Chapter for their charitable offering.
We would also like to recognize Jesse Pierce with Jesse Pierce Enterprises for the SIZABLE donation and also Damon Hornback with Damon Hornback Auction for the truck load of donated items.
We also want to thank the Leitchfield Dollar Store number 9306 for allowing us to place a box for donated items.
Any and all monetary donations will, like always, stay within the community to help support local underprivileged families, not only through the holiday season, but throughout the year.
From all of us at the Clarkson Police Department, we hope you have a Very Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year!!

Good morning, this is Clarkson Police Chief Buck Meredith. The Clarkson Police welcomes the opening of the Clarkson Ball Park this 2021 playing season. Our department loves watching and interacting with children and young adults on any positive basis and our city’s sports complex gives us ample opportunities to do so. Throughout the season, our officers will be seen conducting foot patrol through the ball park and will make routine vehicle patrols on the city streets around the park.
The Clarkson Police has recently received several complaints of speeders traveling on Old Leitchfield Rd, traveling in the direction of the Ball Park. Please know, the speed limit is 20 miles per hour beginning at the red light and continuing the duration of Old Leitchfield RD. We hope everyone enjoys their time at the ball park, but for the safety of the residents of the surrounding community, please watch your speed through this area. CKPD officers will be HEAVILY conducting speed and distractive driving enforcement on Old Leitchfield Rd during the next few months.
As always, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns. My door is always open to the public.
