Today commemorates the adoption of the United States flag by the Continental Congress on June 14, 1777, during the struggle for American independence. The Stars and Stripes have flown through every chapter of the nation’s history—from revolution and civil war to global conflict and peace—standing as a symbol of unity, sacrifice, and enduring national resolve.

On June 6, 1944, thousands of brave soldiers stormed the beaches of Normandy, carrying the weight of a nation determined to defeat tyranny and defend freedom. In the face of fierce resistance, they fought with extraordinary courage and determination, helping to open the path to the liberation of Western Europe.

We remember the scale, the sacrifice, and the soldiers who pushed through unimaginable conditions to help end World War II. Today, we recognize their service with deep gratitude, and honor the legacy they left behind.

‼️We have been informed that local Democrats have reportedly been contacting the owners of our fundraising event venue, questioning their decision to host our event.

While this comes as no surprise to us, what does raise concern is the hypocrisy behind it. It makes us ask an important question: Is the culture of silencing, intimidating, and suppressing political opposition really a thing of the past, or has it simply evolved into new forms?

The Black Republican Club believes in open dialogue, free speech, and allowing people to think for themselves.

We welcome debate. We welcome differences of opinion. What we do not welcome is pressure campaigns designed to discourage people from gathering and engaging in the political process.
