The Jeremiah Clark Chapter SAR Jeremiah Clark Chapter Sons of the American Revolution on Saturday afternoon, June 13, 3:30 will be presenting a Patriots of Oakland County "Roll Call" Service to honor and remember the forty-four patriots buried in Oakland County. Each patriot's name will be spoken with a brief biography with the placement of a Betsy Ross flag in the "Field of Honor" and the tolling of a bell, a naval tradition marking the end of one's service to country.

They will be assisted by the Michigan Society Sons of the American Revolution in colonial uniforms, Sashabaw Plains Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Elias Cady Children of the American Revolution.

The event will be held at the site of our chapter's Liberty Tree behind the Senior Community Center, Clintonwood Park, 6000 Clarkston Road, Clarkston.

Staff members of our senior community center recently attended the National Council On Aging, Age + Action Conference in Arlington, Virginia.

During the conference, representatives from the state of Michigan met with congressional and state legislators telling our stories and advocating for senior centers. This has been an amazing opportunity!

Michigan Association of Senior Centers President Kim Phillips was recognized by National Council On Aging (NCOA) this morning for exemplary service to the senior center field and presented the NISC Founders Award.

Michelle recently was awarded the Youth Volunteer of the Year award at the Clarkston Community Awards breakfast! Michelle spends countless hours each week making sure that the youth in our community feel supported and valued through her with the JOI Club and Clarkston Area Optimist Club !

Is it time for your car to have an oil change? Tires rotated and balanced? Do you need new windshield wiper blades? Did you know that our Therapuetic Recreation league’s sponsoring dealership, Bowman Chevrolet can service all makes and models?

Now through JUNE 30, please stop by Bowman Chevrolet to have your car’s routine maintenance needs taken care of. Then, while you’re there waiting for your vehicle to be serviced, please ask the staff to let you take a test drive to benefit Therapeutic Recreation Travel Softball through the Chevy Youth Sports program.


For each test drive taken, Bowman Chevrolet will donate $25 to TR Sports through June 30, while supplies last. This support is in addition to the monetary donation Bowman Chevrolet has already provided through the Chevy Youth Sports program. We appreciate their $1500 sponsorship!

We need league supporters to complete test drives so we can earn the full amount available, so we hope we can count on your help!


Once your test drive has been completed, it must be validated to count towards our fundraising goal! Please ask the staff at Bowman Chevrolet for the test drive validation key code, which you’ll need to type in at www.Chevrolet.com/Experience in order for your drive to count! If you are not given the validation key code, please reach out to me.
