The Clarkston Police Department has officially launched its new Safety Traffic Enforcement Patrol (S.T.E.P.) Unit, a proactive initiative focused on improving roadway safety throughout the city. The unit was created to address ongoing concerns related to pedestrian safety, traffic violations, and congestion in high traffic areas.

The S.T.E.P. Unit will increase patrol presence in school zones and pedestrian corridors, enforce traffic laws that protect lives, and encourage safer habits among drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians. As Clarkston continues to grow, this program strengthens the city’s long-term commitment to safety and prevention.

The Clarkston Police Department invites residents, business owners, and community partners to join us for the Official Grand Opening of the new Clarkston City Hall on Friday, August 1, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 736 Park North Boulevard, Suite 120.

We are proud to announce that our department will share a unified space with City Hall, creating greater accessibility and deeper collaboration in serving the community. Come tour the new facility, meet your officers, and help us celebrate this important step forward in public service.

On behalf of Mayor Beverly H. Burks, the Clarkston City Council, City Manager ChaQuias Miller-Thornton, and city staff, you are cordially invited to celebrate a milestone moment in the history of the City of Clarkston.

The City of Clarkston Police Department is proud to welcome Officer Reese Williams to the team. With more than 24 years of law enforcement experience, Officer Williams brings a strong background in traffic enforcement, criminal investigations, and field training. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and has completed leadership programs through Mercer University, Columbus State University, and the FBI LEEDS program.

Officer Williams was drawn to Clarkston’s reputation for community-centered policing and its investment in the professional development of its officers. We were proud to swear him in this week and are excited to officially welcome him to the team.

The Clarkston Police Department is asking for the community’s help in identifying a homicide victim found in a wooded area off Brockett Road. The victim remains unidentified, and even the smallest piece of information could be vital in bringing closure to their loved ones and ensuring justice is served.

Clarkston Police Department needs your help! If you have any information, please submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-TIPS or visit www.StopCrimeAtl.org. Your tip could make a difference!

Detectives with the Clarkston Police Department Homicide Unit are requesting the public’s assistance with providing information related to a homicide that occurred at 1281 Brockett Road.

On Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 9:00 PM, Clarkston Police responded to Silver Oaks Apartments on Brockett Road. Upon arrival they observed the victim 18-year-old Jaherious “Jah” Montgomery (pictured) who sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Montgomery was announced deceased at the scene. The Clarkston Police Department is seeking help from the public in gathering information regarding this incident and any subjects present during the time of the shooting.

Anyone with information on the case can submit a tip anonymously to the Crime Stoppers Atlanta tip line at 404-577-TIPS (8477), online www.StopCrimeAtl.org, or by texting CSA and the tip to CRIMES (274637). Persons do not have to give their name or any identifying information to be eligible for the reward of up to $2,000.

Detectives with the Clarkston Police Department Homicide Unit are requesting the public’s assistance with providing information related to a homicide that occurred at 1000 Montreal Road.

On Wednesday, June 19, at 12:30 AM, Clarkston Police responded to Parc 1000 Apartments on Montreal Road. Upon arrival, they observed the victim, 19-Year-old Samuel Dorsey (pictured), lying on the sidewalk. Mr. Dorsey had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and sadly succumbed to his injuries. The Clarkston Police Department is seeking help from the public in gathering information regarding this incident and any subjects present during the time of the shooting.
