Earlier today, I had the opportunity to meet the new president of Vanderbilt Clarksville, Randy Davis, and tour the hospital with him and members of his team.

I have to say, hearing the stories about what they walked into when they took over was shocking, and seeing the progress they've already made in such a short time is incredibly impressive. And from what I learned today, that's only scratching the surface.

One thing Randy shared that will be announced in the coming months has the potential to be truly transformative for Montgomery County and the surrounding region. While I can't share details yet, I can say I'm excited about what lies ahead.

What stood out most was this team's clear commitment to quality patient care. Their focus is evident, and they are making meaningful investments to improve healthcare in our community.

I am genuinely hopeful about the future of this hospital and the enhanced level of care it will be providing in the very near future.

I also made a pretty big ask today, and if it comes to fruition, you'll definitely be hearing more about it.

I'm thankful Vanderbilt is part of our community and grateful for the leadership and vision being brought to Clarksville.

When I ran for the State House, one of my top priorities was bringing another hospital to Clarksville. Our community has grown rapidly, and access to quality healthcare must grow with it.

Immediately after being elected, I began meeting with healthcare systems about investing in Clarksville. Ascension Saint Thomas was one of the most enthusiastic about becoming part of our community and helping meet our growing healthcare needs.

Our community showed up in force at the Certificate of Need hearing, and together we secured approval for both Ascension Saint Thomas Clarksville and TriStar Clarksville.

This week marked the culmination of that work as we officially broke ground on the new Ascension Saint Thomas Clarksville hospital!

I am incredibly thankful for every elected official, community leader, healthcare advocate, and citizen who took part in the conversations, attended meetings, testified, and championed this effort along the way. This achievement was made possible because so many people worked together with a shared vision for the future of Clarksville.

For too long, Clarksville has struggled with limited healthcare options despite being one of the fastest-growing communities in Tennessee. Today, we are turning the page. We are going from a healthcare desert to becoming a healthcare oasis.

This is a major win for Clarksville, Montgomery County, and the families who deserve greater access to high-quality healthcare close to home. I am grateful to everyone who helped make this vision a reality, and I can't wait to see the impact this hospital will have on our community for generations to come.

Promises made. Promises kept.

Thankful for the coverage of this new law that I introduced and passed this year—one of the bills I'm most proud of because of its impact on Tennessee's children.

Parents should be in the driver's seat when it comes to sensitive conversations about gender identity. This law ensures that insurance companies and healthcare systems can't pressure doctors to initiate those discussions with minors without parental involvement.

And for those criticizing the law, don't leave out an important fact: if a child brings up the topic, doctors are still free to have that conversation. I absolutely believe children experiencing gender dysphoria deserve compassionate care and support.

This law is about parental rights, transparency, and protecting children.

A new law prohibiting certain gender-identity-related questions from being asked to minors by their doctors has LGBTQ advocates pushing back.

Had a great experience at the 2026 Florida Tech & Innovation Summit, connecting with industry leaders, innovators, and fellow lawmakers in Miami. It was an incredible opportunity to discuss emerging technologies, economic growth, and the future of innovation.

I was especially grateful for the opportunity to share Tennessee's Internet, Social Media, and AI Safety Act—a bipartisan piece of legislation that I was proud to sponsor and successfully pass to help educate children in public schools about online safety measures.

Thank you to The James Madison Institute for the invitation and for hosting such an outstanding event. I appreciate the opportunity to learn, collaborate, share, and bring new ideas back to Tennessee.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It is a time to pause, reflect, and give thanks for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

May we never forget their courage, their service, or the families who carry their legacy forward.

Honored to have been invited to speak at the Manna Café Gala tonight. What an incredible organization making a real difference by feeding the hungry, serving the homeless, and loving people throughout our community with dignity and compassion.

Thankful for everyone who gives, volunteers, and supports this mission. Praying tonight’s gala raised an overwhelming amount of support so Manna Café can continue changing lives and meeting needs across Clarksville and Montgomery County.

As Matthew 25 reminds us: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat…” Grateful for ministries that truly live that out every single day.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026! 🎓 Your hard work, perseverance, and dedication have brought you to this incredible milestone. As you walk across that stage, know that your future is bright and full of opportunity. Never stop pursuing your dreams, serving others, and making a difference in the world around you. We are proud of each and every one of you!

Over the past 4 years on the School Board, I’ve had the incredible privilege of shaking hands with more than 11,000 graduates across our community. Each handshake represents a story of determination, achievement, and hope for the future. It has truly been one of the greatest honors of my service.

Unfortunately, I will be missing the Northeast and Montgomery Central graduations tonight, as I previously committed to speaking at the Mana Cafe Gala, and months ago didn't perceive the conflict. While I hate missing these special celebrations, I’m cheering on every graduate and family from afar and wishing you all an unforgettable graduation day.
