“Let’s go fly a kite, up to the highest height!” 🪁☀️

Today’s story time was all about kites! We read "The Kite" by Mary Packard and "Kite Flying" by Grace Lin, then the kids made their own kites to take outside and fly.💨☁

It was a beautiful day for stories at the library and a little kite flying!

It was so much fun returning to Villa Crest Academy for the first time this school year! 🤩

We read "Dragons Love Tacos" and "Dragons Love Tacos 2: The Sequel" by Adam Rubin, along with "The Library Dragon" by Carmen Agra Deedy. The kids also made their own dragon eggs to take home!

Ms. Lydia also got to introduce them to Reading Dragons, our reading incentive program for Kindergarten through adults. 📖🐉

📚✨ Happy Back to School to all of our Johnson County students and teachers!

We had the pleasure of participating in several school open houses last week, and loved getting to see so many familiar faces as everyone gets ready for a new school year! 🚌✏️

We still have a few more open houses coming up, and we’re looking forward to seeing even more of our Johnson County students and families. We hope everyone has a wonderful first week back! 🍎📖

What a fantastic morning at our annual Back to School Bash and Resource Fair! 🎉🫧

A big thank you to The Art of FuN - Northwest Arkansas' Elite Children's Entertainment Co. for bringing the foam party and glitter tattoos! The foam was a perfect way to beat the heat, and it was a hit all morning long.

There was so much to explore:
🎨 An art table
🔑 Keychain making with 100 Families Initiative of Johnson and Franklin County
🪳 Real live hissing cockroaches from UAEX-Johnson County 4-H
📦 A hands-on feel-and-guess box from Lake Dardanelle State Park
📚 Free books!

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate the start of a new school year with us, and to all of our wonderful community partners who helped make the morning so much fun. We loved seeing so many familiar faces, and we can't wait to see you at the library again soon! 📚❤️
