Clarksville Fire Department

Clarksville Fire Department We would hope that our Clarksville community would join this group but we would encourage anyone to join.

We feel that this can be an effective tool to reach out into our community with information and updates about anything from family safety to events that our department provides. Each summer the fire department teams up with the local library and has provided Clarksville's largest sprinkler system to let the kids enjoy a nice cool down. Several thousand gallons of water at approximately 67 degrees

is pumped thorugh the fire truck in a safe yet fun way to give the kids an enjoyable afternoon. We will be posting other benifits that affect us and the surrounding communities. We hope that you will get involved and get ready for some fun!

🚧 Bell Rd Bridge Update at Duck Creek 🚧

The contractor has completed pile driving for the bridge foundations on both sides of Duck Creek on Bell Rd.

Crews are now placing rebar and forming the pile caps, with concrete expected to be poured later this week. Once the caps are complete, the bridge beams will be shipped to the site and set in place, with bridge deck work to follow shortly after.

We appreciate everyone’s patience as improvements continue on Bell Rd! 👷‍♂️

CTFD members trained on ice water rescue techniques Tuesday evening.

The warm weather last week removed a fair amount of ice accumulation on local lakes and ponds, triggering area departments to hone our rescue skills.

As of 9pm Tuesday 2-24-26, Morrison Lake had water around inlets and edges with around 4” of ice off shore where we were training.

Ice around open water is soft and unsafe.

CTFD has taken delivery of 13 new SCOTT Air-Pak 5.5 X3 Pro SCBA packs with rfid tracking, Vision C5 gen 2 masks, 26 new 5500 psi 30 minute cylinders and a RIT-PAK III with a 1-hour cylinder.

This equipment replaces breathing apparatus ranging from 10-25 years old that have served our firefighters well but no longer met the 10-year service guidelines .

These new breathing apparatus will help insure our personnel have quality equipment to provide breathing air in atmospheres that would be dangerous to breathe.

This was made possible by an AFG Grant we were awarded in 2024 with a lot of assistance from Karin @ MinnesotaGrantWriter. https://www.grantwritingfiredepartments.com/

Our most heartfelt condolences to the Hamilton Fire Department on the loss of their Fire Chief, David Haverdink, who was struck and killed in the line of Duty.

Reminder to slow down and go around so we can all go home.
