Clarksville 50+ Activity Center "Where strangers become friends and friends become family." Serving those 50 + We were chartered by the State of Tennessee in 1965.

Our mission is to provide a multi-purpose facility and services for seniors that will enhance their quality of life. Clarksville Montgomery County Ajax Turner Senior Citizens Center is a 501c(3) non-profit organization serving seniors 50 and older in Montgomery County and surrounding areas with a community-supported place to meet and make friends. We are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors

appointed by the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County. Our Center leaders are Loo Caudle, Executive Director; Robert Thompson, Fiscal Director; Michele Hayward, Volunteer/Special Activities Coordinator; Jan Holleman, Marketing/Fundraising Coordinator; Tammy Flippen, Program Coordinator; Jessica Catlett Adult Day Center Director; and Marcia Marshall, Kitchen Manager. We currently have 18 employees and scores of volunteers. We are funded in part with the City of Clarksville, the State of Tennessee, Federal, and United Way funds, income-based fees, fundraisers, and DONATIONS. The Tennessee Agency on Aging and Disability monitors our operations, programs and finances. We are open Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday night dances 6 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. We provide opportunities for exercise and physical activities, educational programs, health screenings and seminars, hot lunches, billiards, socialization, and much, much more. We are so excited to start bringing back your favorite activities to the Center!

Zumba classes begin TOMORROW! 10am-10:30am in 202.

Line dancing, beginners and intermediate classes will return on Monday September 14th!

Computer Literacy will also begin Monday September 14th! Whether you’re looking to learn the basics or become a little more comfortable with technology, we’d love to have you join us!

As we continue to get settled back in after being closed for 2 months, please be patient with us as we rebuild our activity schedule and get everything back up and running. We’re working hard to bring back activities you enjoy while also adding new opportunities!

If you have an activity you’d like to see at the center, let us know! Stop by and pick up an Activity Request form from Morrisa and we’ll do our best to get your ideas on the calendar!

Please note the center will be closed on Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day!

**SATURDAY NIGHT DANCES ARE BACK!**

We’re kicking off our Saturday Night Dances again on Saturday, August 29th, and we are so excited to have everyone back on the dance floor! ❤️

📅 Saturday, August 29th
🚪 Doors open: 6:00 PM
🍗 Buffet served: 6:30 PM
🎵 Band starts: 7:00 PM
🎶 Dancing until: 9:30 PM
🎟️ Tickets: $7 per person

A HUGE thank you to The Scotty Richardson Band, who will be bringing chicken for our potluck buffet!

And the best part? You don’t have to be a Senior Center member to join us! Our Saturday Night Dance is open to the public for all adults who want to come enjoy some good food, great music, dancing, and even better company!

We are so excited to share that our ADC (Adult Day Center) program has officially been approved to reopen tomorrow, Tuesday, August 25th! ❤️

We are thrilled to welcome our ADC participants and families back through our doors. After everything it has taken to get here, we are so grateful to be moving forward and getting back to serving our ADC Family!

STAND WITH THE AJAX TURNER 50+ CENTER - AUGUST 18

For over 60 years, the Ajax Turner 50+ Center has been a place where Clarksville seniors come together to eat, participate in activities, and make friends who become family. Right now, our doors are closed.

We have filed suit because we believe in the future of this Center and the seniors who depend on it. We are working toward reopening on August 24, but that next step depends on what happens in court.

Our first court hearing is Tuesday, August 18 at 9:00 AM.
And on that morning, we are asking our community to show up.

If Ajax Turner has meant something to you, come stand with us.

If you have a parent, grandparent, friend, or neighbor who relies on this Center, come stand with us.

If you believe Clarksville's community institutions are worth protecting, come stand with us.

Ajax Turner is more than a building.

It's more than card tables, pool tables and lunch tables. It's friendships. It's a place for people who may otherwise spend their days alone to have somewhere to go and someone to talk to. It’s where strangers become friends, and friends become family.

Tomorrow, On August 18, we're asking Clarksville to stand together.
