Our Maintenance and Park Services teams have completed work on the playground at Woodlawn Park!

The team applied a fresh coat of Trassig Resealer to the pour-in-place surface, helping protect it from damage, granulation, and UV rays while keeping the playground safe and ready for play.

We are so grateful for the hard work our team does every day!

The initial phases of our TVA habitat restoration project at Rotary Park are underway!

As the initial clearing began, one of our biggest priorities was protecting as many critters as possible while removing undesired vegetation and preparing the area for restoration.

One of the best parts of spending time outside during this process was seeing just how many critters already call this park home. Every little creature we encountered was a reminder of exactly why this work matters. We are improving this habitat not only for the wildlife that lives here today, but for the many more species we hope to support in the future!

Pictured below are just a few highlights from our time in the field, along with a juvenile racer snake who is on the way to Walden’s Puddle for rehabilitation after being found with an older injury.

There is still a lot of work ahead, but it is exciting to see this project officially taking shape. We look forward to sharing the progress as this space is transformed into healthier, more diverse habitat for our native wildlife!

We’re proud to celebrate our Administrative Services Supervisor, Jaimie Stefko, on graduating from the Certified County Finance Officer (CCFO) Program through the County Technical Assistance Service (CTAS) and the Tennessee Comptroller’s Office!

This year-long program provides comprehensive training in county government operations, budgeting, purchasing, accounting, financial management, risk management, debt, and financial reporting. The program equips Tennessee county financial officers with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively manage the fiscal responsibilities of their county or department.

Congratulations, Jaimie, on this incredible accomplishment! We’re proud to have you on our team and appreciate all you do for Montgomery County Parks & Recreation!
