We are planning for open swim tomorrow at 1:30-3:30 and resuming evening lessons. Since Monday night was cancelled, we will have Tuesday night swim instead: 7:00-9:00.

Reminder: the rules set in place are to keep everyone safe. Some are in-house rules, but most are handed down from the Oregon Health Authority/Model Aquatic Code. Our rules are found on our website or in the lobby of the pool. Those are in addition to the hundreds of pages rules a public pool must follow to operate. If a lifeguard has reminded you of a rule, please be kind and cooperative. The lifeguards serve a very important role, however, an attentive parent within arms reach of a small child is the best prevention of a serious accident. You must follow the supervision rules or will be asked to leave (6 and under need an adult in the water within arms reach at all times).

Before your next swim, please familiarize yourself with our rules and reach out with any questions.

Please help us in keeping the pool a safe, clean, and positive experience for everyone, including staff. Thank you for your cooperation.

POOL CLOSED DUE TO CONTAMINATION ISSUE

The pool manager will be going through the decontamination process, and the lifeguards will be contacting afternoon swim lesson attendees and tomorrow morning swim lesson attendees to notify them of the cancellation.

There will be NO Open Swim from 7-9pm tonight.

We will keep you posted about afternoon lessons for tomorrow.

We appreciate your patience while we get the pool operational.

Thank you to everyone who made our first day of opening a success! As you may have noticed, we have some new artwork in the building. Local artist Jessica Perkins donated her own time and materials to bring much needed color to the building. Her inspiration was “as if there were no walls.” She painted the scenery of the park and local fish. Jessica incorporated water from the Clatskanie River as well as fresh rainwater off the downspouts. We are so grateful for all the support we receive from the community. The artwork will bring smiles for years to come and from the bottom of hearts, thank you. 🐟🌳🦌🐉

After hearing from parents and caregivers of older elementary and early middle school-age children, we are temporarily revising the public pool rule regarding youth supervision.

The rule will now recommend—rather than require—that children younger than 14 be accompanied by adults at general-use public swimming pools during open swim periods.

This fall, we will hear input from parents, caregivers, public pool operators, lifeguards, regulators and other interested parties to inform a decision about making that rule permanent or adopting a different rule.

The recent change has been moved to a temporary recommendation.
