This message is from 2023. Over the past two years, as I served as your Mayor, I have had the pleasure of meeting so many of you. I have enjoyed helping you resolve issues, share the good things that happen in Clawson, celebrate the people who make a difference, and move this community forward with our infrastructure and road projects, short term rental ordinance, and so many more issues that are important to you. Together, we have made a difference in our community. This is a result of working together as a council and with our administration, focusing on the tasks important to you.

I am asking for your vote tomorrow, November 4th, one more time. Let's keep our momentum. Let us continue to move Clawson forward. Let us continue to work together and shine the light on all that Clawson is and work to make our home a wonderful place to be for all of us, our businesses, and our visitors who support us all.

Also, as this campaign comes to a close, I want to take a moment to thank everyone for your kindness, encouragement, and support over these past months. Your kindness to me and to your neighbors.

I know that sometimes kindness takes courage amid all the noise, and your kindness has meant so much.

However you bring good into this world, I am grateful for it.

Clawson is a special place, a close-knit community of neighbors who care for one another, families who put down roots here, and people who take pride in showing up for their city.

We are fortunate to have the best DPW and city services, dedicated police and fire departments, and so many wonderful organizations that pour their hearts into making this a great place to live. It is that shared commitment to one another that makes our small bedroom community feel like home.

Let's keep Clawson moving forward!

Clawson Voters:
In just a few days, we’ll cast our votes, close out this campaign season, and hopefully come together again as one community.
I’m proud of the relationships I’ve built and the support I’ve received from so many of you. Your encouragement means more than you know.

Regarding the sample ballot that’s been circulating online: I first saw it through a screenshot shared with me late last night. I did not create or distribute it, and while it’s not how I would have presented information, materials like this are not uncommon during elections. Mr. Scott was not the only candidate distributing these.

This is my fourth campaign in Clawson. Every election, I’ve run alongside longtime residents and dedicated community members. I’ve never told anyone not to vote for a friend or to vote a certain way. Your vote is your voice and it should reflect your own values and priorities.

This year, I’ve shared whom I personally support because I believe experience and the ability to work collaboratively truly matter. I encourage you to review each candidate’s qualifications and make an informed decision that feels right to you.

As always, I remain focused on running a campaign centered on respect, transparency, and community.

We all want what’s best for Clawson. Let’s finish this election with respect, civility, and optimism for what we can continue to build together.

Today was a day full of activities in Clawson. Our day began with the DDA Trick or Treating and ended with the Pubkin Crawl. I enjoyed the opportunity to meet our neighbors and people from our neighboring communities. I heard so many good things about Clawson and what we have to offer. People shared their reasons for choosing to live here, and many of our neighbors from our surrounding communities shared why they choose to visit our businesses and join in our community activities. Clawson, we have so much to be proud of! Thanks to all of you who make a difference. To the many people out there lifting others up, creating a community that is positive, and seeking the good, Thank you, Thank you! You are the reason serving this community is worth while!

🎃 Clawson’s Spirit Shines Bright 👻

This weekend’s Trick or Treat Trail was a celebration of everything that makes our city special. The laughter, the creativity in the costumes, and the simple joy of neighbors coming together made the night unforgettable.

Events like this remind me why I love this city so deeply.

Clawson isn’t just a collection of streets and houses. It is a community where people take pride in showing up for one another.

We are so lucky to live in a community full of volunteers, city services, cheerleaders for our kids, organizations, and supporters of local businesses, that show up and come together for shared traditions!

These moments are one way we invest in our city and in each other.
A big thank you to all the residents, businesses, volunteers, and organizations, especially Clawson Youth Assistance and Clawson Parks, Recreation & Senior Services for all your work at this year’s trick or treat trail a one to remember.

We are not done yet… Downtown Trick or Treat is this weekend. Please see the attached interactive map the Downtown Clawson put together. These businesses will open their doors and sidewalks to families for another opportunity to celebrate our city.

🎃 Trick or Treat Trail is Tomorrow👻
One of my favorite days of the year is almost here! I love seeing all the families out walking the trail, taking breaks to play at the playground, and neighbors sharing laughs and good times.

A big thank you to Clawson Youth Assistance for making this wonderful yearly tradition so memorable.

Can’t wait to see everyone out enjoying the fun!

Protecting Clawson’s Small Town Character

I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful residents at community events, and topics that often come up is our small town charm and commercial development.

I’ve worked hard to protect what makes Clawson special. One example of this was to stop unregulated motel-like air bnbs from commercializing our neighborhoods.

On September 16, 2025, I joined Council Members Anderson, Sheppard and Scott in a vote to remove short-term rentals (air bnbs) from operating in our neighborhoods.

People choose Clawson because they want to know their neighbors, wave across the street, they want more children in our schools and to live in a community where everyone is invested in one another.

Residents expressed that having a constant rotation of strangers next door led to blight issues, felt unsettling and came at a cost.

As Mayor, I’ll continue to listen to residents and make sure our neighborhoods remain the Heart of our city.
