The Clawson Police Department’s four (4) Flock License Plate Reader cameras were removed and decommissioned as scheduled. They are not physically installed. Claims suggesting otherwise are false and contribute to the spread of misinformation. While you may still see similar cameras in areas surrounding our city, they are owned and operated by other agencies or private entities. Our 4 cameras were physically removed and have not remained up as claimed. We remain committed to providing factual information and encourage anyone with questions to seek information from official sources.

We had a NEW PROGRAM LAUNCHED in OCTOBER that we want to bring awareness to:

S.A.V.E.S PROJECT
Special Needs. Autism. Vulnerable Persons. Elderly. Safety.

This is a non-profit initiative created by the city of Rochester Police Department. The program is built on the belief that everyone deserves to feel safe during moments of crisis or confusion. This initiative is now available for Clawson residents.

1. SAVES Project ID: Wearable Medical Solution to prevent tragedy and assist with wandering recovery. This is a Sticker QR Code technology which enables responders to quickly access essential details and emergency contact information
2. The Blue Envelope Program: designed to enhance encounters during traffic stops for individuals with special needs. Providing officers with crucial information, fostering a more understanding and compassionate environment.

Further information about the program can be found at www.savesproject.com. To register a loved one, contact Chief Bauss at [email protected]

We are grateful that Officer Barnett had the opportunity to spend time at the Special Olympics Summer Games, cheering on such incredible athletes. She shared that “the determination, courage, and enthusiasm of these athletes is truly inspiring, and it is an honor to celebrate their hard work and achievements.”

CPD also participates in two annual fundraisers to raise money for Special Olympics of Michigan. Next up is the Fall Law Enforcement Torch Run!

There is a threat of severe weather tonight to include powerful storms, high winds up to 75mph, embedded tornados and large hail expected. Please remain vigilant and take precautionary measures. The timeframe is predicted to be between 8pm to 3am. You can sign up for emergency alerts through OakAlert at https://www.oakgov.com/community/emergency-management/oakalert

A Slight to Enhanced Risk for Severe weather exists this evening & tonight as a line of thunderstorms is expected to develop ahead of an approaching cold front. All thunderstorms hazards will be possible with damaging winds and embedded tornadoes as the greatest threats as the line moves across Michigan. Large hail and flooding are also possible. Uncertainty: The scenario where the line of storms weaken as they enter southeast Michigan or the most intense activity tracks south of Michigan remains in play.

We are proud to announce our 2026 Scholarship recipient, Cree Page!! We wish you the best of luck as you begin the next chapter in your educational journey!

The Clawson Police Scholarship recognizes academic excellence and community involvement. It is awarded to a Clawson graduating senior pursuing a career within the criminal justice system. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our private donor, a Clawson resident, for their generous donation to this years’ scholarship. We would also like to recognize and thank the Michigan Schools and Government Credit Union and the Diversified Members Credit Union, both Clawson businesses. Their generous contributions will fund next years’ scholarship. 2026 marks the 17th year that we have had the honor of awarding scholarships to Clawson seniors. The continuous generosity of our community makes opportunities like this possible!! Thank you for your investment in our youth.

Congrats Cree and Go Green!!
