🛼 Inside a 1941 roller rink in Clawson, someone parked a vintage 1940s Chevy pickup in the middle of the floor and decided to open a furniture store. The disco ball and original hockey scoreboard came with the building.

That's Leon & Lulu, Metro Detroit's most unlikely (and most beloved) lifestyle shop:

✓ The space: 15,000 sq. ft. of original rink floors, over 300 pairs of vintage skates in the displays, and employees who occasionally still skate the floor while they work
✓ The range: furniture, women's clothing, one-of-a-kind gifts, toys, books, and Michigan-made goods, priced anywhere from 75 cents to "wow, okay"
✓ The neighbor: the 1941 Clawson Theater next door was rescued and restored as The Show, now home to Three Cats Restaurant and a dedicated Made in Michigan shop
✓ The extras: charity fashion shows, local artists' markets, author fairs, blood drives, adoption events; the calendar runs year-round
