Please be advised that Daisy Nevils Road will be closed for culvert repairs between Edgar Hodges Road and Highway 280.

All residences south of Edgar Hodges Road can be accessed via Highway 280. We anticipate reopening Daisy Nevils Road on Thursday, April 23rd.

Hwy 250 will be closed to through traffic from Sunbury Rd to Hwy 129 South from 8am-4pm today, tomorrow, and Thursday for our Road Department to make repairs and maintenance.

This section of of Hwy 250 will be completed at 10:00 today.

The section of Hwy 250 between Hwy 129 South and Jennie Station Rd will be closed to through traffic between 10am-5pm today and 8am-4pm tomorrow.

Evans County is forecast to have 0.1"-1" of snow. The most likely time of arrival is 1pm-4pm on Saturday, 1/31/26. An Extreme Cold Warning is in effect from 7pm Saturday until noon Sunday with wind chills around 20. The County is prepared to respond to icy road conditions but please use caution while driving this weekend and encourage others to do the same.

UPDATE: A Winter Storm Warning is in effect 7 AM Sat. to 1 PM Sun. for Bulloch, Candler, Effingham, Jenkins, Screven, Allendale, Beaufort, Coastal & Inland Colleton, Coastal & Inland Jasper, and Hampton Counties. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued elsewhere across SE SC & SE GA.

possible.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Georgia and southeast South Carolina.

* WHEN...From Saturday evening through Sunday morning.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia could occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures. An extended period of freezing
temperatures could cause ruptured water pipes.
Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.
