What a well-deserved spotlight! Thank you, Coy Tippins, for your 17 years of unwavering dedication to EMS and for keeping crews safe both in the air and on the ground. We are incredibly grateful for your service—happy EMS Week!

Next in the ⭐️ SPOTLIGHT ⭐️ we have Coy Tippins

With 17 years in EMS, nearly 9 years with Air Evac Lifeteam, and more than 900 patient flights, Coy Tippins has dedicated his life to serving others in their greatest time of need.

Coy says life — and EMS — has taught him many lessons, but the biggest is that the “rule of 3” is real… bad things seem to happen in threes. Through every challenge, his faith, family, and sense of purpose continue to keep him grounded.

When he’s not at work, you can usually find Coy where he loves being most — at the ball field, at church, or somewhere on the coast with his people. He’s the proud husband to what he calls “an absolute smoke show” and a blessed father to three amazing kids who make every long shift worth it. ❤️

Coy also serves as our Base Safety Representative, helping ensure our crew stays informed and prepared on the latest safety concerns. Outside of flying, he is proud to own South GA CPR & First Aid and serves as the RTAC Coordinator for Region 9.

Coy says, “Helping train others, serve the community, and make a difference in emergency medicine has been one of the greatest honors of my life.”

Thank you, Coy, for your leadership, service, and dedication to improving outcomes together for the communities we serve. Happy EMS Week! 🚁

Happy National EMS Week! 🚑🔥

A shoutout to our own Karla McNeese! She’s a volunteer firefighter on our department and a full-time EMT at Evans EMS. We’re pretty sure she just likes the sound of sirens more than silence.

To Karla and all the EMS crews: thanks for hitting veins in moving ambulances and keeping a straight face through those "unique" patient stories.

Give them a big thanks this week! They’re the ones who can save your life while operating on three hours of sleep and a cold energy drink.

National Police Week may have officially ended on May 16, but when you have a guy who handles both hoses and handcuffs, the celebration never really stops!

We’re a little late to the party, but we couldn't let the week pass without a nod to the legendary rivalry between the red trucks and the blue lights. We all know the jokes: firefighters are usually busy polishing the fire truck until it reflects their own reflection, while police officers are busy scouting the best donut locations.

But in our volunteer department, we have a "secret weapon" who bridges the gap. We want to give a shout-out to Officer Harden. Harden is one of our dedicated volunteer firefighters, so when he isn't on patrol he works with us in the fire service. We are incredibly proud of the work you do for both sides. Thank you for your service and for proving that you can wear both hats—and both sets of boots—with pride!

Better late than never—Happy National Police Week to all our brothers and sisters in blue, especially our very own Officer Harden!

GMAS Success = "Sticky" Situation!

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to our Claxton Elementary 3rd - 5th incredible students for their focus, responsibility, and commitment to excellence. We also want to give a shoutout to our dedicated teachers for guiding, motivating, and supporting these students every step of the way. This victory belongs to all of you!

Talk about "sticking" to your goals! It is obvious everyone enjoyed the well-deserved fun! Well, the verdict is still out on the enjoyment level of the administration but at least they were good sports about it. Way to go, Tigers—your hard work "stuck," and your success shines!

Claxton Fire Department was honored to participate in the recent school achievement event. We had a blast at Claxton Elementary School's AR celebration with our dunking booth! 💦 Huge congratulations to all the 2nd through 5th graders who smashed their reading goals every single nine weeks. While we love serving our community daily, spending time with our local students and staff is always the absolute highlight of our job.

Have a safe, wonderful summer, everyone—and remember to stay fire safe! 🔥👨‍🚒
