I think you’re brave, Cowgirl, for the way you feel what you need to feel, laugh through tears and you don’t let the dark keep you down.

I think you’re brave, Cowgirl, because you won’t let the cold world or the loss of love be the nail in the coffin of your hearty soul.

I think you’re brave, Cowgirl, for wanting to roll lucky sevens but you know it takes riding for 8 to get anything worth having.

I think you’re brave, Cowgirl, in the way you rebuild your loop and take another run at life because you know it’s worth living right.

I think you’re brave, Cowgirl, for the way you don’t need a man to change a tire or hitch your trailer, but that you smile that beautiful smile and say ‘thank you’ to that gentleman that offers.

I think you’re brave, Cowgirl, for how you smooth out the rough edges and recognize the beauty of the patina life has painted you with.

I think you’re brave, Cowgirl, when the pit in your stomach threatens to exit when you climb aboard a snorty c**t, but you suck into your saddle and hold onto that rope, and smile anyway.

I think you’re brave, Cowgirl, and I hope you realize just how much you are, too.

Happy Trails… today and everyday-

Storrie Lake State Park shuts down water system to reduce stress on water supply for City of Las Vegas.

The New Mexico State Parks Division announces that due to the flooding that has damaged the City of Las Vegas water system, water will be turned off at Storrie Lake State Park until further notice.

On Friday, June 21, heavy rain produced flooding that brought ash and debris in unprecedented amounts into the reservoir from the Calf Canyon and Hermits Peak burn scars, delaying the processing of water by the water treatment plant. Currently, water restrictions remain in effect for the City of Las Vegas to conserve the limited water supply available.

“This is a public health emergency. By turning the water system off at Storrie Lake, we can take some of the burden off the compromised water system for the City of Las Vegas,” said Toby Velasquez, Director. “The wildfires impacted all of us and we can expect that this could likely happen again during monsoon season. We are all neighbors and it’s our responsibility to do our part to support the community in any way we can.”

The water shutdown began earlier this week and will remain in effect at Storrie Lake until further notice. Dry camping is available, but all comfort stations are closed and there will be no water for campsites or the dump station.

For more detailed information and daily updates on the City of Las Vegas Water Restrictions, please visit their website at lasvegasnm.gov.

Keep your pool sparkling, but don't forget safety! These tips can help:

♨️ Keep chemicals in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space away from direct sunlight or anything that can cause a fire.

👶 Store chemicals in their original containers, tightly sealed and out of reach of children.

🥽 Wear protective gear, like gloves or goggles, when handling chemicals.

💦 Always add chemicals to water slowly to avoid splashing and reactions.

🧪 Mixing chemicals incorrectly can result in dangerous reactions. Only mix chemicals as instructed by a professional.

Even with precautions, accidents can happen. Call the Poison Help line at 1-800-222-1222 if you have questions or need help.
