The Clayton Chamber of Commerce would like to invite you to come for a visit or come to stay. We are nestled in the Kiamichi Mountains in the picturesque town of Clayton in the Potato Hills. Just south of Clayton is Clayton Lake State Park, great for fishing or swimming. The park is surrounded by pine forest with plentiful wild life and over 100 species of birds. The Pushmataha Wildlife Refuge is
also nearby, featuring scenic views from its mountain summit. We are a short 5 mile drive from the Choctaw Nation Capital grounds and museum. Many activities and Native classes in flint chipping and bow making are available throughout the summer months. The Choctaw Nation keeps a wild buffalo heard for natural preservation that can be seen in the pastures as you drive by. In the warmer months many fishing tournaments are held. Four-wheel Drive Clubs to come venture our trails and it is rumored we have some of the best. We welcome all the put us to the test. Come take a cruise on motorcycles through our beautiful mountains and around our lakes. Sardis Lake is only about 5 miles from the center of town. It is only a 30 minute drive to Robbers Cave State Park, about a three hour drive from Crater of Diamonds State Park in Murfreesboro, AR to dig your own crystal, diamonds and salt crystals. We are 2 hours south of Tulsa metro, airport, shopping, zoo, as well as many restaurants and entertainment venues. We are three hours north of Dallas and their airport. We have several restaurants that serve down home cooking such as Mama's Kitchen, K Country II and Clayton Country Inn. For great BBQ, Boom Pa's fits the bill. Hungry for pizza? Try the Pizza Place. Chuck's Classic Bar and Grill offers the best Phila Cheesesteak around. We have a well rounded and caring school system, local library with free internet service and several stores and churches nearby. We feel we have a perfect place to visit and the perfect small town to raise a family. There are also many ways to share your spare time through the Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Free Masons, American Legion, FFA and 4-H, just to mention a few.
