Good afternoon.

Today, Monday, June 1, 2026, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office issued charges against suspect Christian Watkins, 23 years of age, of the 9700 block of Winkler Drive in St. Louis, Missouri 63136 for Assault 1st Degree or Attempt, Unlawful Use Of Weapon – Subsection 9 – Shoot At/From Motor Vehicle, At Person, Motor Vehicle or Building and two counts of Armed Criminal Action. Watkins is being held on a $100,000, cash-only, no 10% bond.

Please note that charges are merely an accusation, and Defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.

The probable cause statement for Watkins reads: On May 31, 2026, at approximately 10:22 P.М, Victim #1 was driving his 2017 Dodge Charger on Apricot Avenue at the intersection with Sapphire Avenue. Victim #2 was a passenger. The defendant was near the 5500 block of Sapphire Avenue, standing in the street. Numerous other people were nearby in the yard in the 5500 block of Sapphire Ave. The defendant and others began firing shots at the Charger. A shot entered a residence in the 7200 block of Sapphire Avenue striking Victim #3 in the forehead as she laid in bed. She was transported to an area hospital and suffered a graze wound to the forehead. The Charger sustained damage, including a broken rear window, and sped away. The Charger was quickly stopped, and statements were obtained from the victims. Police investigated, recovered 16 casings from the scene, and pursuant to a consent search entered a residence in the 5500 block of Sapphire, where the defendant and 4 other adults and more than 10 juveniles were found and detained. Police further discovered 5 pistols, some with auto sears making them fully automatic, and equipment to manufacture auto sears. The defendant admitted shooting, with others, fi****ms at the Charger when it crossed the intersection.

St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Crimes Against Persons detectives are handling this investigation.

Congratulations to Officers Clemens and Grant on receiving a Life Saving Award!

On August 29, 2025, the officers responded to a welfare check involving a suicidal subject. They located the victim inside a running vehicle in a closed garage and quickly forced entry to help.

Officer Clemens secured a loaded gun while Officer Grant safely removed the victim from the vehicle.

Missing Alert!

Good afternoon. An Endangered Silver Advisory has been issued for 62-year-old Charles Slate. Mr. Slate was last seen leaving his home in the 2200 block of Mill Valley Drive, in Florissant, at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026.

Mr. Slate is described as 5’11”, 190 lbs., with gray hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a black T-shirt, gray jeans, and black-and-blue tennis shoes. Mr. Slate is missing his teeth.

Mr. Slate has been diagnosed with medical conditions.

Our officers would like to locate Mr. Slate as soon as possible. Anyone with information is urged to call 911, contact the nearest law enforcement agency, or call the St. Louis County Police Department at 636-529-8210.

UPDATE: At approximately 1:30 a.m. today, the victim succumbed to his injuries. The deceased has been identified as Antone Little, 6 years of age, of the 400 block of Midlothian Road, St. Louis, MO, 63137. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available.

Previously Released Information

St. Louis County, Mo. (May 26, 2026): St. Louis County Police Department Bureau of Crimes Against Persons detectives are investigating a shooting in the 400 block of Midlothian Road that resulted in critical injuries to a 6-year-old male.

On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at approximately 2:25 a.m., St. Louis County police officers from the North County Precinct responded to a call for service for a shooting in the 400 block of Midlothian Road. Officers located a child suffering from an apparent gunshot injury. The child was transported to an area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office issued charges against suspect Arquez Phipps, 19 years of age, of the 400 block of Midlothian Road in St. Louis, Missouri 63136, for Endangering the Welfare of a Child – 1st Degree – Serious Physical Injury. Phipps is being held on a $20,000, cash-only, no 10% bond.

Please note that charges are merely an accusation, and Defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.

The probable cause statement for Phipps reads: On May 26, 2026, officers are called to a residence in reference to a 6-year-old shooting himself accidentally. Child is transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the face and is currently in critical condition. Police recovered the firearm at the scene. When interviewed, Defendant admitted the firearm was his and that it was hidden in between the mattress and box spring, fully loaded.

Congratulations to Officer Goodwin and Officer Ullo!

On June 12, 2025, Officers Goodwin and Ullo identified a robbery suspect who fled into St. Louis City, crashed the vehicle, and ran on foot. With help from a K9 team, POs Goodwin and Ullo tracked the suspect to a dumpster where he was hiding with stolen property. The officers also recovered the firearm used in the robbery and a semi-automatic rifle.

Further investigation tied the suspect to a Kirkwood shooting that injured two people. The suspect later confessed, and warrants were issued with a $250,000 cash‑only bond.

Congratulations to Sergeant Deck on receiving a Life-Saving Award!

On August 14, 2025, Sergeant Deck responded to a shooting where he located a female suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. After securing the firearm, he immediately rendered lifesaving aid until paramedics arrived.

Due to his quick actions, the victim survived and later made a full recovery.

Second Murder Suspect Charged in Steak 'n Shake Homicide Investigation:

St. Louis County, Mo. (May 27, 2026): On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges against suspect Torriono Baker, 22 years of age, of the 2300 block of Kingsford Drive in St. Louis, Missouri 63031, for Murder 1st Degree, three counts of Armed Criminal Action, Assault 1st Degree, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon Subsection 9 – Shoot At/From Motor Vehicle, At Person, Motor Vehicle, or Building, Resulting in a Death or Injury. Baker is being held on a $600,000, cash-only, no 10% bond.

Please note that charges are merely an accusation, and Defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.

The probable cause statement reads: On April 8, 2026, C.M. was working at the Steak 'n Shake restaurant at 11035 Bellefontaine Road in St. Louis County. Co-defendant Jada Bell was driving a white SUV, and the defendant was inside of that SUV. Co-defendant Bell pulled up to the drive-through window and had a dispute with C.M. about her food order. The defendant, acting with Jada Bell, fired several rounds from a handgun at C.M. C.M. was shot multiple times and died as a result of the gunshot injuries. Victim #2 was also working inside the restaurant and was shot in the hand. Portions of this incident were captured on surveillance footage from Steak 'n Shake. Records show that the defendant purchased a .45 caliber G***k handgun in February of 2026.
