⚠️ The timeframe for tonight's risk for severe weather continues to shift later, now falling primarily during the overnight hours from tonight. Isolated to scattered severe storms, producing damaging wind gusts and large hail remain possible across the region.

The threat for severe weather will linger Friday afternoon and evening. Portions of the Philadelphia metro and South Jersey area have a marginal risk (1 out of 5) for severe storms, but the primary threat area will be across Delmarva, where there is a slight risk (2 out of 5),

🚧 N. Tuckahoe Rd. (CR555) is closed for an extended period of time in Monroe Twp., between Glassboro Rd. (SR322) and Braves Blvd / Twelve Oaks Dr., due to a multi-vehicle accident involving commercial vehicles.

⚠️ Please seek alternate routes of travel. Monroe Twp. Police is handling the accident investigation. County Hazmat is assisting Williamstown Fire Department with a large fluid spill.

⚠️ The Slight Risk (level 2 out of 5) has been expanded to include Gloucester County and much of the region. The main severe potential is focused primarily on tonight. The intensity, extent, and timing depends on thunderstorm development well to our west and northwest this afternoon.

On Tuesday, the Gloucester County Hazmat Response Unit responded to the Walmart West on Cooper Street to assist the Deptford Fire Department and Deptford Township Police Department with an incident in which numerous people were affected. Our office coordinated with a number of partner agencies and other entities in the hours during & following the incident to better understand the circumstances surrounding what took place.

Thank you to the personnel and units from Gloucester County EMS, Inspira EMS – ALS Paramedics, Rowan University EMS, Camden County Public Safety, Washington Twp. Fire Department, Harrison Twp. Fire District, Woodbury Fire Department, and Camden City Fire Department who also provided on-scene or incident support.

The exact timing and coverage of any severe storms is uncertain, as it will be conditional on how the stable surface air evolves. Storms could linger well into the night. 🚨 9-1-1 Communications is extremely busy answering countless calls and dispatching fire and emergency resources for downed trees, trees into homes or structures, fallen wires or power outages, and some reported collapsed structures.

⚠️ Stay home and DO NOT travel if you don’t have to!

πŸ”Ž The full extent of damage is not yet known, and is still being investigated by multiple fire departments, mainly centered around Mantua, West Deptford, and Deptford Townships.

πŸš’ Fire Department resources, around the county not directly affected, are being relocated to support areas with significant damages, or to back fill departments heavily committed to assignments. πŸ§‘β€πŸš’

πŸ“ Gloucester County falls within each risk area to keep an eye on, while threats will be greatest across eastern PA and NJ on Tuesday, the entire region on Wednesday, and points south of Reading & Trenton on Thursday.

β˜”οΈ In addition to the threat for severe storms, localized rainfall rates of 1-2 inches per hour will be possible, with the risk for isolated instances of flash flooding.
