A 35-year-old man is a person of interest in a double homicide that occurred Thursday evening in Pushmataha County, Oklahoma, state authorities said Friday.

🚨 WANTED - Jeffery Scott Baker, 35, of Clayton, Oklahoma. Baker was last seen at the Dollar General on Upper Valley Road in El Paso County.🚨

Baker is wanted in connection to a double murder in Clayton, Oklahoma. He is considered armed and dangerous.

OSBI INVESTIGATES DOUBLE HOMICIDE IN CLAYTON

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
SEPTEMBER 11, 2025

CLAYTON, OK - On September 11, 2025, the Pushmataha County Sheriff's Office requested the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to investigate a double homicide.

Earlier that evening, deputies responded to a welfare check at a residence along State Highway 43 in Clayton. When deputies arrived on scene, they located an elderly male and female deceased. It was determined they both suffered injuries consistent with homicide.

Based on the information and evidence obtained, the two victims’ son, identified as 35-year-old Jeffery Scott Baker, is a person of interest at this time. Baker is believed to be driving the victims’ vehicle, a gray 2013 Dodge Caravan. License plate number is MPU 474.

Baker is considered to be armed and dangerous and is believed to still be in the Pushmataha or LeFlore County area.

Clayton Police Department – Public Release
Date: August 23, 2025

At approximately 5:50 a.m. on August 23, 2025, Officer Smith of the Clayton Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Lawson Blvd. for a vehicle speeding in excess of the posted 25MPH speed limit. The driver, identified as Jonathan Wood, was found to be operating the vehicle with a suspended/revoked driver’s license.

During the stop, officers conducted a lawful search of the vehicle and discovered suspected narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Field tests on these items revealed the presence of Fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Bags containing suspected Ma*****na were also discovered, along with items consistent with ma*****na use.
Mr. Wood did not have a state issued Oklahoma Medical Ma*****na license in his possession.

Mr. Wood was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Clayton Police Department Jail, then later transported to the Pushmataha County Jail in Antlers, Ok.

Mr. Wood was charged with the following offenses:

- Speeding 1-10 mph over the speed limit
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Possession of Schedule II narcotics
- Possession of Schedule II narcotics within 1,000 feet of a public education institution
- Possession of CDS (Controlled Dangerous Substances)
- Driving without a valid license (suspended, revoked, denied, or canceled)
- Operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license

These charges are not convictions; everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Clayton Police Department remains committed to maintaining public safety and addressing drug-related activity in the community.
