Our library card went on an adventure and found its way to Roanoke, Virginia, home of the iconic Mill Mountain Star, the largest free-standing illuminated man-made star! 🌟We love seeing all the amazing places our community goes.

Where is your library card traveling this summer? Snap a photo on your next road trip, tag us, and show us where you're reading!

Our team is hard at work getting the library ready for you while we remain closed to the public for a little bit longer.

We know you're eager to get back inside, and we can’t wait to show you our beautiful space. In the meantime, don't miss out on library programming happening throughout June.

Turns out packing up a library comes with a little treasure hunting.

While moving books back into the renovated library, staff discovered some very interesting items hidden between the pages.

Some discoveries were more mysterious than others. Have a look!

We know many people are wondering why the move takes time.

Behind the scenes, our staff is working every day to help pack the temporary location and move to the renovated library for reopening. While it’s a big process, we’re getting closer with every step.

We appreciate everyone’s patience as we continue the move.

Check out where one of our cards ventured recently: all the way to Washington, D.C., to visit the stunning Carnegie Library and the Library of Congress. As the home to the largest library in the world, it’s the ultimate bucket-list destination for book lovers, and we think our little card fits right in.

Packing up a library takes a lot of time. So naturally, everyone has their own soundtrack.

Some staff members are listening to what you might expect... audiobooks. But one employee found their own way to stay entertained while packing up the temporary library location.

Watch to see what everyone picked.

Check out these radishes grown by one of our amazing staff members. These beauties started out as a simple packet of seeds from the library’s Seed Library.

Have you harvested anything from your library seeds yet? Tag us in your photos. We’d love to see what you’re growing!

This week's youth library program dove into all things birds. Our participants learned all about birds and how different types of beaks work like specialized tools to gather food and building supplies for their nests. Then they turned trash into treasure by crafting amazing bird feeders out of recycled materials.
