Been a very busy couple months so I wanted to provide you all with an update on what’s new around Wilson’s Mills Fire department.
With many new employees comes structure, drilling, all stations staffed with 3 and station 3 has 4 for the ladder truck. It is imperative we continue to provide trained and qualified providers to staff above Johnston County Minimum staffing level of 2.
At Wilson's Mills Fire Department we are striving to reach goals set by NFPA 1710 hopefully in our near future. For now we have staffed stations ready to respond in their own respective districts. This should better our response times getting to those in need of help faster and be able to have a full crew to back up our own companies or mutual aid. “3 with at least one EMT on all, ladder running 4 to be able to split with two in and two out performing as a company instead of just bringing the ladder tot the scene.”
The overall objective for Wilson’s Mills Fire department is to serve better everyday.
The photos attached are members drilling, racking hose to make it perfect.
Our idea of a day on shift starts with inspections now on PSTrax, a digital format that allows us to track maintenance required and equipment, wash all the rigs to ensure they are in a ready state always, drills everyday sometimes 2-3 times, clean the station, physical fitness time allotted for each member to stay healthy and take the calls with a quick response out the door to get to anyone in need of our assistance.
I’m proud to show you just some of our days of the men and women of Wilson’s Mills Fire.
