ATTENTION ALL Firefighters Association of the State of New York MEMBERS AND VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS! 🚒

Friday June 5th at Utica-Rome Speedway will be First Responder Night! All FASNY Members and Volunteer Firefighters will be FREE ADMISSION! Please come out and enjoy a night at the races!

If you would like to have your department bring a fire truck, please let us or Utica Rome Speedway know! We want to make this a great night out!

This morning 5/25 at 6:07 am the Clayville Fire Dept was dispatched to a reported structure fire at HMI on Main St in the village.
Car 3 and car 12 arrived shortly after dispatch, after meeting with facility personnel and completing the 360 a confirmed active fire was located in a dust collection unit in the rear exterior of the structure.

Upon arrival of Engine 2, 2 hand lines were stretched one of which utilized F500. Engine 3 stood by at the hydrant. Once staff confirmed there was no reactivity hazard with the dust product and water, Tower 5 crew set up and was able to gain access via 3 service doors on the unit extinguishing the remaining fire and removed all burned filters from the collection unit. Crews also checked inside the structure for any extension which there was none.

Once the fire was out crews and equipment were deconned.

Engine 2, Engine 3, Rescue 2, Tower 5, and EMS 1 responded along with 23 members

The Dept was back in service by 8:30 am
