📢 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
Friday Police Department Office Closure – September Through December
Beginning in September, the Police Department office will be closed to the public on Fridays through the end of the year as a temporary pilot program. Officers and staff will continue working their regular schedules, and police services and emergency response will continue as normal.
While we value being accessible to our community, frequent interruptions can make it difficult for staff to complete reports, administrative work, follow-up, case preparation, and other responsibilities that require focused attention.
Closing the office to the public on Fridays will provide officers and staff with dedicated time to focus on these responsibilities, helping improve efficiency and allowing them to better serve the community.
What you can expect on Fridays:
* The Police Department office will be closed for non-emergency walk-in services.
* Officers and staff will continue working their regular schedules.
* The administrative phone line will not be answered on Fridays.
* Emergency police services and response will continue as normal.
* For emergencies, please continue to call 911.
* Non-emergency requests can be submitted by email or addressed during regular office hours.
This will be a trial period from September through the end of December. During this time, the City and Police Department will evaluate how the Friday closure works for both staff and the community and determine whether any changes should be made moving forward.
We appreciate your understanding as we work to create more uninterrupted time for our officers and staff to complete essential work while continuing to provide responsive and effective police services to our community.
