The South Dakota Swine Summit is a program for youth ages 12-21 interested in learning more about the swine industry. 🐖

Participants will tour the SDSU Swine Education and Research Facility and attend educational sessions about biosecurity, nutrition, animal evaluation, showmanship and daily care, and carcass evaluation and anatomy.

📅When? Saturday, June 6 from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
📍Where? SDSU Animal Science Complex

Rangeland and Soil Days will take place June 9-10, 2026, at the Belle Fourche Community Hall (512 6th Avenue, Belle Fourche, SD 57717).

Do you have questions about the animal identification requirements for exhibiting a sheep or goat in the South Dakota State Fair 4-H Shows?

Consider attending one of the three workshops offered this May! These workshops will cover:
🐐Sheep and Goat Identification Requirements (including RFID tags)
🧬Proper DNA hair sample collection
📝YLL activity

There are three different dates and locations for these workshops, no pre-registration or fee to attend!
📍May 21 at 6:00 pm at the Brown County Fairgrounds Aberdeen
📍May 26 at 6:00 pm at the McCook County Fairgrounds in Salem
📍May 28 at 6:00 pm at the SDSU Animal Science Arena in Brookings

A LIMITED number of Q-Flex Sheep/Goat RFID tags and Allflex 982 RFID tags will be available for purchase for $5/tag.

🌄 Teen Wilderness Camp (Ages 13–17)

🌿 Youth Camp (Ages 8–12)

Both camps are great opportunities to learn new skills, make friends, and enjoy the outdoors.
