🇺🇸 Washington County Government invites residents to attend a special Flag Day Ceremony on Sunday, June 14, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at 18350 Public safety Place, Hagerstown, MD 21740, as the community comes together to honor the history and significance of the American flag.

Observed each year on June 14, Flag Day commemorates the adoption of the United States flag by the Continental Congress in 1777. The resolution established the design of the flag as thirteen stripes, alternating red and white, with thirteen stars on a blue field representing a new constellation of states.

The Town of Clear Spring and the Clear Spring District Historical Association partnered together for the Clear Spring Third Graders to enjoy a day learning the history of the Town and Plumb Grove.

Special thanks to the Third grade teachers for including the history of Clear Spring in their education. Thanks to the volunteers for providing a wonderful experience for our youth. Town of Clear Spring Mayor Steve Blickenstaff, Vice Mayor Grailing Mills, Council member Sherri Miller, Town Clerk Juanita Grimm and Community Deputy Dakota Watkins. Clear Spring Historical Society members President David Wiles, Vice President Raymond Divelbiss, Mike Bragunier, Christi Hixon, Sandi Johnson, Levi Mason, David Post, Eric Trail and Ralph Young.
