What a meaningful week to celebrate a Law Enforcement Academy graduation during National Police Week.

Class 137 graduated today with their Law Enforcement Officer certifications. The class began in January with 30 cadets. In March, 14 cadets completed their Special Function Officer (SFO) and/or Basic Correctional Officer (BCO) certifications, and today, 13 cadets completed their LEO certifications. It has been quite a journey for each of these men and women.

Many of these cadets have now been hired by and are serving with the Layton Police Department, Layton Fire Department, Logan Police Department, North Park Police Department, Ogden Police Department, South Jordan Police Department, South Ogden Police Department, West Valley Police Department, and the Weber County Sheriff’s Office.

Congratulations to all of the graduates, and thank you for your commitment to serving your communities.

WSU completed a write-up on Cadet Olson, one of our cadets. Cadet Olson, like many of our other cadets, is inspirational and brings leadership and integrity to the law enforcement profession.

In just a few months, Zachary Olson will graduate from Weber State University’s Law Enforcement Academy and enter the police force. It’s a swift transition for Olson, who was on a Ph.D. track in robotics and mechanical engineering just one year ago.
