Please 𝐎𝐍𝐋𝐘 bring acceptable materials

Sadly, we must report that the multi compartment recycling containers at Woodward Township Muncipal Building pulled on 4/7/2026 contained 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. According to our recycler it appeared to be glass jars full of dirt and moss, plastic bags full of traps, concrete and dirt. These items are 𝐍𝐎𝐓 recyclable and ends up being landfilled.

Rinse all containers, they need to be free of any debris and food particles. Lids and labels are acceptable. We ask that you please remove your materials from the plastic bags and take them with you. We can 𝐍𝐎𝐓 take plastic bags at our drop-off sites, because they require a different type of recycling than plastic bottles and containers.

Unfortunately, while you may mean well you are actually adding to the amount of contamination which does not help recycling program sustainability. This is an added safety hazard to the employees running the recycling center and an added financial burden.

Anyone 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 using our 𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐩-𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬 for garbage disposal and to avoid those fees will be prosecuted for 𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐝𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠. If you see someone tossing trash in the container d̲o̲n̲'̲t̲ ̲c̲o̲n̲f̲r̲o̲n̲t̲ ̲t̲h̲e̲m̲ simply report the incident to our office.

FYI...

We learned recently that staples is charging a fee to get rid of rechargeable and single-use batteries. Per their website it is $2.99 per visit.

If you missed our recent E-Waste and HHW collection event don't worry there will be another one in the Fall. Registration is now open. The date is Saturday, October 3rd at the Clearfield Driving Park.

Dear Recycling Residents,

We wanted to let you know that the cardboard and paper bin as well as the commingled bin at Brady Township Municipal Authority are getting full. We have a pull scheduled for Monday, April 20th. If you take recyclables this weekend and the bin is full please do not leave items on the ground outside the bins. Thank you.

Folks we must report that the Penfield bin was improperly used with the throwing away of satellite dishes inside and outside the recycling bin. 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐡.

Also 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞 your items from inside 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐛𝐚𝐠𝐬 when you dump in your commingled cans and bottles. 𝐖𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐛𝐚𝐠𝐬. The beer paper board can go in the mixed paper bin next to the commingle bottles, cans and jars container.

We understand the confusion that the commingled container still has material shown separated. 𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠.

We have good news the recycling bins have been brought back to the Penfield Grange.

There are 2 bins one is for cardboard and mixed paper and is labeled accordingly.

The other bin will be a commingled bin for Aluminum Cans, Glass Bottles & Jars (Green, Brown, Clear), Metal Cans, Plastic Beverage Containers. Container will be labeled asap. Please use it responsibly.

𝐏𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐤𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐱

Found at our Curwensville Borough site this afternoon 3-11-2026... Please folks don’t leave materials outside the box. We don’t have the manpower to place the materials in the bin for you.

This is a recycling site 𝐍𝐎𝐓 a 𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄 garbage disposal outlet. Anyone caught intentionally misusing the site will be cited for illegal dumping which can result in up to a $1,000 fine. These bags were full of boxes with food items still in them. Also, we do not take coffee/Keurig machines.

We are very small operation of 2 folks that have several other non-recycling related county assigned responsibilities in addition to overseeing the Solid Waste Authority recycling programs.
