Lawrence Township Volunteer Fire Company #1 We run commercial and residential fires, vehicle accidents, vehicle fires, and wild land fires.

Established in November of 1956 the Lawrence Township Volunteer Fire Company #1 began offering fire protection for the residents of Lawrence Township, Clearfield County. Today the department provides protection to over 88 square miles responding to over 450 calls a year.

On Sunday, crews from Company 5 and surrounding departments wrapped up training with Man vs. Machine, taught by Tactical Resource Fire Training LLC. Crews spent the day working through entanglement and impalement scenarios, non-conventional rescue techniques, and ring- and auger-related rescues focusing on low-occurrence, high-risk incidents.

A huge thank you to all the instructors from Tactical Resource Fire Training who make the trip to Central PA and all those departments who attended. We can’t wait to see you next year.

Yesterday, members of Company 5 and surrounding departments participated in an Advanced Vehicle Extrication class instructed by Tactical Resource Fire Training LLC. Crews spent the day practicing hands-on rescue techniques involving side-resting vehicles, rollovers, and school buses, gaining valuable experience.

A special thank you to Fire & Rescue Products of Harrisburg for providing demonstration equipment and supporting the training. Thank you to Novey Recycling for providing a site location and vehicles. Today starts Day 2 of Man VS Machine.

This afternoon Company 5 was alerted to gas leak in a building at the old Red Roof Inn along 879. Chief 5 arrived on scene quickly and confirmed an active leak. Crews from the Engine and Rescue both searched the building and located the source. UGI gas responded and secured the leak. Units operated for roughly an hour.

This morning, Company 5 was alerted for a vehicle crash along Interstate 80 eastbound at MM 117. Initial reports indicated a single vehicle rolled over blocking the roadway. This afternoon, Company 5 was alerted for a vehicle crash with entrapment along 4 Mile Road in Pine Township. Assistant 5 arrived on the scene and confirmed the report with two occupants still entrapped inside the vehicle. Rescue 5 arrived and quickly went to work, extricating both patients who were then turned over to EMS for treatment and transport.
