Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library The Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library serves the residents of Clearfield, Bradford and Lawrence Townships. All donations are tax-deductible.

Founded in 1940, the mission of the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library is to serve the educational, recreational, informational, and cultural needs of our community. We offer seven patron computers with printing capabilities and free wi-fi. There are a variety of storytimes for families to enjoy as well as a children's area for play and motor skill development. In addition, the Library has a l

arge sitting area overlooking the river for all of our patrons to enjoy. The Library collection includes books, audiobooks, and magazines, as well as access to online audiobooks and e-books. The Library is a non-profit organization that depends on state funding and donations in order to provide services to our community.

Reminder that the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library is closed today (5/30) as we replace our sidewalks. Please do not cross the barriers for your own safety. The library will open normally on Monday. Thank you for your understanding as we make improvements!

Please excuse our mess as we make improvements to the library. We are replacing our sidewalk over the next few days. The library is OPEN! The book drop has been moved but is open for those who wish to use it. A make shift entrance has been made to offer a safe route into the library. Please follow the balloons and use caution when parking. Thank you for your understanding!

Join us for National Library Week April 19th - 25th. Storytime children will enjoy a program featuring this year's PA One Book...The Great Cookie Kerfuffle. Each child will receive a book thanks to the Philipsburg Kiwanis. Join us Tuesday at 6pm for an Author visit with Joe Taylor. Chess Club and Lego Club are also held Tuesday night. Outreach programs will be held at Clearfield Preschool, St. Francis, and others over the next two weeks. We recognize the dedication of our library staff, volunteers, and board members. We say thank you! Stop in this week and find your joy at the library.

The Shaw Public Library will host an author visit on Tuesday, April 21st at 6pm. This will be our second time hosting Joe Taylor, a local author and Radio personality. His book Eating My Own Words isn't just a book about food. It's about people, memories, and the moments that bring us together. Through humor; honesty, and real-life experiences, Joe shares stories that remind us that the best things in life aren't just what's on the table but the connections we share. The long awaited trip to the Pittsburgh Zoo is here! Our first stop was to finally meet Majeck, the Macaw. Through our sponsorship, the storytime kids get monthly updates! He said hello to everyone! But wait....there are dinosaurs at the zoo. Just in time for us to learn about them for Summer Reading! If you haven't heard yet, the Shaw Public Library will host a seven week Summer Reading Program titled..Unearth a Story. Its all about dinosaurs! More information to follow. We are having a beautiful day! 66 people joined us today. Enjoy and safe travels.
