First Contact Providing Crisis Intervention and Essential Community Information The Helpline started what is now known as Family Resources, Inc.

Since the 1970's, our humble beginnings started as "The Helpline" a crisis and suicide intervention hotline for Pinellas County. who provides shelter for runaway youth and family counseling. In 2001, The Helpline and several other technology programs under the helpline diverted from Family Resources and merged with an existing organization Pinellas Cares, Inc., a charitable organization with a pur

pose of providing volunteer opportunities for the community. The Helpline acquired the 2-1-1 number. A new mission was created and the organization changed its name to 2-1-1 Tampa Bay Cares, Inc. As an organization, 2-1-1 Tampa Bay Cares, Inc. is listed as being founded in 1996. This was the founding date for Pinellas Cares, Inc. As noted, our programs and services have had a longer and lasting impact on our community. We encourage you to learn more about us. Request a tour or a speaking engagement.
