Today VFW Post 12152 would like to recognize the 82nd anniversary and honor the patriotic fighters of D-Day.

Codename Operation Neptune, the mission began on Tuesday, June 6, 1944, and commenced the largest known seaborne invasion in world history. The assault began at the beaches of Normandy to liberate Nazi-occupied France in World War II — D-Day.

The seaborne operation followed a 1,200-plane airborne assault, codenamed Operation Overlord, that officially ended on August 30, 1944, and involved the countries of the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Australia, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Belgium, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Greece, and South Africa.

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

May we always live worthy of their sacrifice, honor their memory, and never forget the brave Americans who paid the ultimate price.

**UPDATE #2**

We have just finished the Rosehill portion of the complex and are now moving over to the Cleburne Memorial portion to gather flags. If you are in the area you are welcome to join us to finish off the day.

**Good Afternoon Everyone!**

We will begin picking the flags back up for storage at 1330 today, 26 May, and going until all of them are secured for the season.

If you are in the area and would like to swing by to assist, you are welcome to do so.

Thank you for all of the volunteers who have been able to swing by and help us this season.

Good Afternoon Everyone,

This year our nation will be observing Memorial Day on Monday, May 25th.

This upcoming Saturday, May 23rd, the Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 12152 out of Cleburne will be meeting at the Gazebo in Rosehill Cemetery for our annual Memorial Day Remembrance and that will include placement of personal flags for all Veterans buried on the premises.

Anyone from the community with Veteran family, friends, or even interested volunteers, wishing to place a flag on graves, are welcome to meet up and assist with flag placement.

We will provide all the flags, but you are also welcome to bring your own items for personal graves that adhere to the Rosehill Cemetery policy. Our Post will be starting placement at 0700 and going until all graves have received a flag.

Address is: 960 E 2nd St, Cleburne, TX, 76031

If you are in the area and available this weekend, please come by to honor our Veterans. If there are any questions, please message this official account and one of our Post members will respond.

Thank you in advance for your consideration,

Faye L. McKevitt
