Chief Moreland brings 30 years of experience and expertise to his new role at Clemson, following a distinguished career at the Fairfax County (Va.) Fire and Rescue Department.

Moreland set to lead CUFD after 30 years with the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department.

Congratulations to CUFD Firefighter Max Attleson, who graduated from the Firefighter Recruit Program at the Spartanburg Emergency Services Academy on Friday!

The academy is an intensive 9-week program with over 326 hours of firefighting training. Max earned certifications and completed training in Firefighter I & II, Hazardous Materials Operations, Introduction to Technical Rescue, Rescuing the Rescuer and Rapid Intervention Team (RIT).

Congratulations, Max, on this outstanding achievement, and welcome to the next chapter of your fire service journey! He began serving with C-Shift today.

Congratulations to these 12 future EMTs, as they completed the Clemson University Pre-Hospital Education program this summer, including our own Firefighters Austin Howard and Kenneth Robertson!

The students were presented with a stethoscope in a ceremony on Monday, marking the successful completion of the program.

They must pass the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exam to become certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) in South Carolina.

Good luck on your NREMT exams and your remaining academic careers!

CUFD, CUPD and a number of our local law enforcement partners participated in the Touch a Truck event, hosted by the Clemson City Police Department at Dawson Park on Saturday.
