Hanover House: “Peu A Peu”

Hanover House, a historic house museum listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was originally built in South Carolina’s lowcountry, off the west branch of the Cooper River, in 1716. Starting on August 19, 1941, Hanover was dismantled and moved to Clemson College, now Clemson University, before the home site was flooded as part of the Santee Cooper project. The interior was restored with the assistance of the Spartanburg Committee of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America, representing the colonial settlement through the Revolutionary War.

For hours of operation, please contact [email protected] or (864) 656-2241. Hanover House is closed on University Holidays and Clemson Home Football Saturdays.
