To help ease the pain and devastation of Covid devastation.

The FEMA Funeral Reimbursement Program will launch in a week or two.

FEMA is reimbursing up to $7,000.00 for COVID-19 funerals.

To be eligible for funeral assistance, you must meet these conditions:

§ The death must have occurred in the United States, including the U.S. territories and the District of Columbia.

§ The death certificate must indicate the death was attributed to COVID-19.

§ The applicant must be a U.S. citizen, non-citizen national, or a qualified alien who incurred funeral expenses after January 20, 2020.

§ There is no requirement for the deceased person to have been a U.S. citizen, non-citizen national, or qualified alien.

Additional guidance is being finalized and released to potential applicants and community partners as soon as possible. In the meantime, people who have COVID-19 funeral expenses are encouraged to keep and gather documentation.

Tuesday! Tuesday! Tuesday!

Here is the update you need to know before you go... to the polls.

1) Vote by mail ballots are counted FIRST in Lake County (FL) and many already show as counted at lakevotes.com. They tabulate them immediately after the polls close.

2) It is TOO LATE to mail in a VBM ballot. Drop it off at the Supervisor of Elections office in the Tavares 24 hour dropbox, OR vote in person at your precinct polling location, which is listed on the Supervisor's website.

3) If you still have a Vote by mail ballot, DO NOT mail in the ballot, DROP IT OFF!!! Otherwise, take it to your polling location on Tuesday and use it to mark your polling location ballot. When you finish voting, the Clerk there will destroy it so that you cast only one ballot.

Vote like your rights depend on it!
