When was the last time you planted a tree on your property? Never, you say? Let's change that this year. The town is offering 15 native tree species to help grow our area tree canopy and diversity. 🌳🌲🌳 Trees can help lower your energy costs, reduce the heat island effect, and encourage people to walk outside and be part of the community. 🏘️

If you plan to celebrate our country's 250th year of independence and freedom with fireworks this summer, please keep the following in mind:

You may only use fireworks on a property where you have permission to do so. Clermont's roadways and public parks are not acceptable venues for lighting fireworks.

You may only use fireworks on the following dates at the following specific intervals. These times are protected by state and county laws; using fireworks at other times is prohibited:

--June 28 to July 3: Between the hours of 5 p.m. and two hours after sunset (approximately 11:15 p.m.)
--July 4: 10 a.m. to midnight
--July 5 to July 9: Between the hours of 5 p.m. and two hours after sunset (approximately 11:15 p.m.)

Remember your neighbors. Many go to sleep before the nightly deadlines, and pets may also be sensitive to the fireworks. For some of your neighbors, the loud noises and reverberations of fireworks may trigger symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other types of medical conditions.

To report unlawful fireworks behavior, call 911.

Be weather aware tonight! If you have loose objects outside, bring them inside or secure them.
