: Who remembers the three-day water shortage in Clermont this week, back in February 1951? 💧At first it was a mystery as to the cause. Experts offered a dozen possible reasons why, including maybe too many residents had left faucets running to avoid freezing pipes. During the outage, residents used milk cans to bring water home from nearby communities and bought distilled water and juice 🧃, milk 🥛, and pop 🥤 to get by. The town also hooked up to the well at the Clermont Lions Club to get more water. Once the weather warmed up a bit, a large leak was found in the system and fixed. ... But it wasn't the last of the town's water problems. Just two months later, the grade school cancelled classes due to another water outage, caused during repairs to the water company's storage tank. 😶
