Originally established as a group devoted to reading from the Great Books of the Western World project started at the University of Chicago, Noble Great Books is celebrating its 70th year in the 2015-2016 session. In this participant-led discussion, we read and talk about a wide variety of important works in a range of subjects. Each year, our reading list includes influential literary and histori

cal works, as well as selections from science, political theory, religion, and philosophy, chosen from the Western canon and beyond. Our discussions are lively and incisive, as we seek to understand what each writer is saying, finding its relevance to our own lives and times.
