🚧 Check the website for an updated list of the next tranche of road repairs! 🚧

There’s a new way to get updates about road work, starting this week as Phase 2 begins. We suggest bookmarking the new webpage (https://buff.ly/6acCmUg) so that you have easy access to it for updates.

Information about streets from Phase 2 will be updated on the new webpage as Public Works receives information from the contractors.

The Public Works department will use the new 2026 Roads Program Overview webpage to share updates in real time; that will be the most reliable place to find details about specific road projects.

*If you do not see an update on a particular road, that means Public Works does do not have an update to share just yet.*

💚❤️💛 Happy Juneteenth! 💛❤️💚

Today, we honor, celebrate, and reflect upon Juneteenth as a community and as a nation.

On June 19th, 1865, Union troops freed enslaved African Americans in Texas 900 days after the Emancipation Proclamation went into effect. Read more about the holiday's history and importance >> https://s.si.edu/44KLUL1

New process detailed below for City events:

New process detailed below for City events:

Cleveland Heights has a history of exciting, diverse and entertaining special events hosted by business districts, community organizations and the City itself. In an effort to provide consistent and thorough event review, Cleveland Heights has updated the approval process. For events planned within the City requesting the use of City property, City services or use of the City’s right of ways, we are asking event organizers to complete a new online application. We believe that this will provide an efficient, fair and consistent process for evaluating the safety, scope and community benefit for special events within the City.

Applications can be found online at https://buff.ly/PFblLjG. Applicants are asked to complete all required fields and optional fields as needed. Requests must be submitted 60 days prior to the date of the event and the application will be reviewed by city departments including Police, Fire and Public Works. You can still reach out to the Mayor’s Action Center with any questions during the process. We hope this new application provides the framework for special event host organizations to imagine and execute events that are consistent with the City’s history of diverse entertainment while maintaining the guardrails of safety and fairness among event organizers.

If you have any questions, please contact the MAC by email at [email protected] or phone at 216-291-2323.

Today, our Cleveland Heights community came together to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend or a tradition - it is a solemn reminder that the freedoms, rights, and democratic ideals we cherish have been protected by Americans willing to give their lives for something greater than themselves.

This day is especially personal for me as the granddaughter of two Army veterans — one who served during World War II and another who served during the Korean War after immigrating to the United States. Their service shaped my understanding of patriotism, duty, and gratitude for the promise of this country.

At a time when our nation can feel deeply divided, today was also a reminder that our democracy depends on all of us - on service, civic responsibility, and a shared commitment to one another and to the ideals that bind us together as Americans.

Thank you to everyone who joined us today in remembrance and reflection. It was an honor to share remarks about what this day means to me.

May we always honor the memories of those we lost not only with words, but through lives of purpose, service, and community. 🇺🇲
