The Cleveland Fire Department is an ISO Class 2 career fire department that staffs six fire stations within the 27-square-mile Cleveland city limits. It is our mission to protect life, property, and the environment from incidents involving fire, rescue, hazardous materials and other emergencies both manmade and natural. The department provides for the public’s safety through code management, publi

c education, and professional emergency management. It is our honor to have served the City with Spirit and its residents since 1895.

Please join us in congratulating Firefighters Richard Tanksley and Chaz Chisam on being named Cleveland Fire Department’s Firefighters of the Month!

Their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to serving the citizens of Cleveland exemplify the very best of our department. We are proud to recognize their hard work and the positive impact they make each and every day.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave all their tomorrows so we could live all of ours.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it is a solemn reminder of the extraordinary sacrifice made by our nation’s heroes and the families who carry their memory forward every day.

From all of us at your Cleveland Fire Department, we extend our deepest gratitude to those who paid the ultimate price in service to our country. Their courage, sacrifice, and legacy will never be forgotten.

May we live each day worthy of the freedoms they fought to protect.

Whether responding to emergencies, providing lifesaving care, comforting patients and families, or standing beside us during difficult moments, our EMS personnel are an essential part of serving and protecting our community.

Your commitment does not go unnoticed. We are grateful for the long hours, quick decisions, teamwork, and sacrifice that come with this calling.

🕘 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM daily

Stop by, say hello, and help make a difference for individuals and families affected by neuromuscular diseases. Every donation—big or small—helps fund research, care, and life-changing support services.

Earlier today, your Cleveland Fire Department responded to an industrial explosion at Amaero Advanced Materials & Manufacturing on Innovation Drive with multiple fire and HAZMAT companies.

Two patients were transported with serious injuries.

We are deeply grateful to our community partners for standing with the men and women of your Cleveland Fire Department during National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend and International Firefighters’ Day.

Your recognition, support, and kindness mean more than words can express as we honor the brave firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others. This time is a solemn reminder of the courage, dedication, and selflessness carried by firefighters every day — and it is made even more meaningful by a community that remembers alongside us.

Thank you for helping us honor the legacy of our fallen heroes while continuing to support those who proudly serve today. Cleveland is stronger because of partnerships like yours.
