Unexpected ride-along?

Yesterday, your Cleveland firefighters discovered that apparently “check your gear” now includes checking for wildlife!

Tucked away in one Member’s gear locker was a tiny baby possum who had apparently decided that bunker gear made for premium accommodations. 🤣

The little guy was safely removed from the station and sent on his way. We’re not sure how he got in there, but judging by his choice of lodging, he clearly has excellent taste!

PHOTO EXTRA: Weekdays, weekends…doesn’t matter. Regardless of the discipline, your Cleveland Fire Department doesn’t train until we get it right—we train until we can’t get it wrong.

Multiple fire companies took advantage of a beautiful Saturday morning to train in several disciplines, including (but not limited to) aerial master stream operations, establishing water supply, advancing attack lines, vehicle stabilization, and rope rescue operations.

PHOTO EXTRA: Earlier today, your Cleveland Fire Department responded to reports of a residential structure fire with six fire companies.

First-arriving units reported a working fire, and an aggressive interior attack was mounted. Two family pets were removed from the structure. Sadly, despite the best efforts of all on scene, one dog perished in the blaze.
