🗳️ WHITE COUNTY ELECTIONS INFORMS VOTERS OF NEW CHECK-IN STEP
White County Elections is informing voters of an additional step they may notice when checking in during advance voting or on Election Day.
Under a recent amendment to Georgia State Election Board Rule 183-1-12-.11(2)(a), poll workers are now required to record each voter’s name on a numbered list of voters as part of the check-in process.
For voters, the process will look much the same as it has in previous elections. After a poll worker verifies your identity and voter registration information, the poll worker will write your name in ink on the numbered list before continuing the check-in process.
This is an additional step for poll workers. There is nothing additional voters need to do. You may notice a poll worker writing your name on the list, and this update is being shared so you understand what to expect when you arrive to vote.
The additional step is expected to add only a few seconds to check-in. Your voting process remains the same.
Thank you for your patience as our poll workers complete this required step!
