Mrs. Tunin has been getting creative in the Primary Library, bringing some of our favorite stories to life through hands-on activities! 🎨📖

🌴 Pre-K students made coconut tree hats featuring alphabet letters inspired by Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr.

⭕ Kindergarten students created colorful spinning tops after reading Round Is a Tortilla: A Book of Shapes by Roseanne Thong.

🎨 1st Grade students designed their own unique characters inspired by Pezzettino by Leo Lionni.

⬛ 2nd Grade students recreated a square after reading The Perfect Square by Michael Hall.

We love seeing our students use their creativity, imagination, and love of reading to turn great stories into memorable learning experiences! ❤️💛📚

Mrs Turners 6the grade classes participated in a library scavenger hunt, locating different books by using all the sections of the CMS library. Then they took the books they found and created a unique poem using only the book spines. “Book Spine Poetry”.

Science in Action! 🔬🥣

Last week, our 4th grade students learned about cause and effect in science. To show what they learned, we completed a fun Cereal Box Challenge! Students explored the question: “What would happen if you knocked down the boxes of cereal that were lined up?”

We are so proud of our students for putting their learning into action while also giving back to our community! ❤️

With the help of our amazing students, families, and teachers, Mrs. Stroud and Mrs. Arpelar’s science classes will be able to donate 65 boxes of cereal to our local food pantry & Backpack Food Program! 🥣

We are so thankful for everyone who helped make this challenge a success! Learning, teamwork, and giving back—all in one! 🎉
