Indian Electric is an electric cooperative serving electricity to 20,000 homes and businesses in Tulsa, Pawnee, Osage, Creek, Noble, Payne and Kay counties

Page Policy

We welcome you and your comments to the Indian Electric Cooperative (IEC) page. We encourage you to submit your questions and comments. Member service issues that need immediate attention, such as power outages, should not be posted on Facebook, we cannot guarantee a timely response. Please report power outages 24 hours a day seven days a week by calling (918) 295-9500. Any specific questions about your IEC account should be handled in person or by phone Monday through Thursday 7:00am to 4:30pm, Fridays 7:00am to 3:30pm at (918) 295-9500. IEC reserves the right to remove any post we feel is inappropriate.

The payment kiosks at both IEC offices are down for maintenance and will be unavailable today and most of the day Friday. Payments still may be processed inside our lobby during business hours or via SmartHub and phone 24/7. The pay by phone number is 855-940-3844.

RESTORED 8:45 a.m.: Crews report a failed lightning arrestor was the cause of the outage. Arrestors are designed to absorb lightning and guide it to the ground. Apparently that one took its last big hit for the team this morning.

OUTAGE UPDATE: Approximately 70 members in the Pawnee/Morrison area are affected by a power outage. While our crews have successfully isolated the issue, they now are trying to pinpoint and repair the exact cause. When cause is determined, we can give an estimated time of restoral. You may experience the power going on and off until full restoration, so please be patient.

We’ve been flipping pancakes all morning🥞

Each year on the morning of Annual Meeting, we have a pancake breakfast fundraiser for food pantries in our service area. Our employees volunteer to make breakfast and deliver to local businesses.

Later today at Annual Meeting, we will have donation buckets set up for our members who would like to participate in the fundraiser. We appreciate your support!💚

Well, we messed up.

A text message reminding members about today’s Annual Meeting went out from our automated system at 2 a.m. That definitely was not the plan. The message was scheduled for much later in the morning, but upon further review, it appears a system glitch caused the scheduled time to revert to a European time zone.

The only text messages you should receive from IEC at 2 a.m. are those related to a power outage or restoration. We sincerely apologize for the mistake. Disturbing thousands of our members in the middle of the night was certainly not on our Annual Meeting agenda.

If it’s any consolation, the message woke up our employees, too. And as you can see, they launched their own internal investigation focused on the Communications Manager.

All jokes aside, we take our responsibility to communicate with members seriously, and we appreciate your understanding. If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact Brandi, IEC Communications Manager, at 918-295-9550.
