Come enjoy the final Summer Community Celebration at Near West Theatre on August 28 from 5-10!

Community Celebrations are back with our final celebration for the summer, and we’re so excited to welcome you to the plaza for our FREE Hispanic Heritage Celebration on August 28 from 5-10 PM!

There will be live performances and music from Papa Ruiz, Julia de Burgos, NWT Alumni, and Baila con Lali, pop up food tent by Rincon Criollo, resource and information booths, and fun crafts and activities for all ages!

Join us for a vibrant celebration of culture, friendship, and community! This free community celebration honors the rich cultures, histories, and traditions of Hispanic and Latino communities while creating a space to connect, learn, and celebrate together.

Join Raymond Bobgan, Cleveland Public Theatre's executive artistic director & CEO, along with Tony Sias of Karamu House and Michael Obertacz of Near West Theatre as they discuss their work and the importance of theatre in our nation as an essential backbone of civic and community engagement as part of The City Club of Cleveland series "We The People, Our Stage: Theatre for Every Community." The event happens tomorrow (7/8) at 11:45am to 1pm at Playhouse Square Plaza at E. 14 and Euclid. The discussion is being moderated by Ideastream's Kabir Bhatia.

From live performances by local artists and the Cleveland Pride Band to drag performances by Dakota Cox, Sassy Sascha, Betty Abbodum, and Jace Blaze, plus a dance party with DJ C-Star, this free event is all about celebrating the joy, creativity, and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community.
