Slovenian Days 2026 officially began this Saturday at Slovenska Pristava with a wonderful performance by the Folklorna skupina Kres — a joyful celebration of Slovenian heritage, dance, and community.
Slovenska kultura v Clevelandu živi in se prenaša iz roda v rod – tudi po zaslugi predanih posameznikov, kot je Breda Lončar. /
This year’s performance was dedicated to Breda Lončar, the longtime heart and driving force behind Kres. Her dedication to preserving and passing on Slovenian traditions to generations of dancers in Cleveland is deeply appreciated.
With 70 dancers taking part, the performance was a beautiful demonstration of the strength and vitality of Slovenian culture in Cleveland. And what a way to begin Slovenian Days!
The Kres Slovenian Folk Dance Group has been keeping Slovenian dance and traditions alive in the Cleveland community for more than seven decades!
🙏 Thank you to the teachers and all the Kres dancers for their fantastic performance and for the countless hours of work, enthusiasm, and dedication that make events like this possible.
