The Consulate General was honored to participate in the celebration marking the 30th anniversary of the Slovenian radio program *Songs and Melodies from Beautiful Slovenia*, hosted by Edi Mejac at Slovenska Pristava.

On this special occasion, the Consul General presented a Recognition and Appreciation from the Urad Vlade RS za Slovence v zamejstvu in po svetu / Government Office for Slovenians Abroad of the Republic of Slovenia to Edi Mejaco in acknowledgment of his three decades of dedicated service.

The recognition was awarded for the long-standing promotion of the Slovenian language and music, as well as for the program's important role in connecting the Slovenian community and preserving Slovenian national identity in the United States.

We extend our sincere congratulations to Edi Mejac and all those who have contributed to the success of this remarkable program. Their commitment has helped strengthen ties with Slovenia and preserve Slovenian cultural heritage for generations of Slovenians living abroad.

Generalna konzulka se je na Slovenski Pristavi udeležila slovesnosti ob 30-letnici vodenja slovenske radijske oddaje *Pesmi in melodije iz naše lepe Slovenije* s strani Edija Mejaca.

Ob tej priložnosti je gospodu Mejacu podelila priznanje in zahvalo Urada Vlade Republike Slovenije za Slovence v zamejstvu in po svetu ob 30-letnici njegovega delovanja.

Priznanje je bilo podeljeno za dolgoletno širjenje slovenske besede in glasbe ter za pomembno vlogo pri povezovanju slovenske skupnosti in ohranjanju slovenske narodne identitete v Združenih državah Amerike.

This past Sunday, St. Joseph Catholic Slovenian Parish in Joliet celebrated its 135th anniversary.

On this special occasion, the Parish was honored with a proclamation from the Minister for Slovenians Abroad.

Founded in 1891 by Slovenian immigrants, St. Joseph Parish continues to celebrate its rich Slovenian heritage and traditions to this day.

A heartfelt congratulations to the parish community on this remarkable milestone!

🐝 Celebrating World Bee Day in Cleveland! 🇸🇮

We once again participated in the World Bee Day celebration in Cleveland with our own booth, promoting Slovenia’s rich beekeeping heritage and the vital importance of bees and pollinators for our environment and food supply.

Visitors had the opportunity to learn more about Slovenian beekeeping traditions, the famous Carniolan honey bee, and how pollination supports biodiversity and global food production.
Slovenia is especially proud to have initiated the United Nations proclamation of May 20 as World Bee Day, helping raise global awareness about protecting bees and other pollinators.

This wonderful educational event, organized in collaboration with Collaborative Chambers Alliance , Greater Cleveland Beekeepers Association and many volunteers, highlighted the importance of teaching future generations about honey bees, sustainable agriculture, and environmental stewardship.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who visited our stand and helped celebrate the incredible role bees play in keeping people and the planet healthy. 🌼🍯🐝

We were honored to welcome Mayor Justin M. Bibb to the Voinovich Exhibition at the Slovenian Museum and Archives / Slovenski muzej in arhiv today. Thank you, Mayor Bibb, for taking the time to visit and recognize the importance of preserving and sharing the stories that shaped our community and city.
