Join us for our Annual Community Pep Rally, Meet the Longhorns, on August 17th!

Come out and meet the Longhorns as we celebrate the start of the 2026–2027 school year.

This year, we have a special treat as we kick off the evening by recognizing the Future Longhorns of Tarkington Prairie!

Calling all youth athletes from Tarkington Youth Baseball, Tarkington Youth Softball, Tarkington Youth Football, and Tarkington Youth Basketball. Please reach out to your youth league president for participation details.

Meet and Mingle begins at 6:00 PM! Grab your spirit wear, food, and more while catching up with your fellow Longhorns and friends before the festivities begin.

Pep Rally starts at 7:00 PM!

We can’t wait to see our community come together to honor these amazing young athletes, celebrate our Longhorn teams, and kick off another incredible school year.

Mark your calendars for Curriculum Night!

Tarkington ISD families are invited to join us for Curriculum Night at each campus. This event provides a great opportunity to learn more about curriculum, classroom/school expectations, and the learning experiences planned to engage and motivate students throughout the school year.

THS: August 18, 5:00–6:30 p.m.
TES: August 24, 5:00–6:30 p.m.
TECS: August 25, 5:00–6:30 p.m.
TMS: September 1, 6:00–7:30 p.m.

May 21st- Water Day! Volunteers are needed to help manage concessions. Time slots of 30 minutes or 1 hour are available. If you can lend a hand, please respond to this message. We will be open from 7:30 to 3:00, so please add your name and preferred time to the comments. For 1st through 3rd grades, concessions will be set up under the gym awning, and for 4th and 5th grades, they will be located by the High School Football concession stand.
