Somebody has to keep an eye on the city while the burgers are on the grill! 🌭🍔

We hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Labor Day weekend. And a special thank you to all of the first responders, dispatchers, healthcare workers, military members, and everyone else who spent part of the holiday on the clock.

Apparently, our four-legged officers would also like to file a grievance regarding the holiday work schedule. 🐾😂

Guns, Drugs, and Money Oh my…
It’s been a busy summer and the members of the Canine Unit have still been working hard assisting Officers and Detectives across the Five Districts. Check out the follow following seizure from a recent search warrant where one of our pups alerted to 45 grams of crack co***ne. On August 27, detectives with the 5th District Vice Unit executed a Cuyahoga County search warrant in the 5th District.

Members received information regarding suspected drug activity in the area, which led to an investigation. During the ex*****on of the search warrant, detectives seized five fi****ms, approximately 45 grams of crack co***ne, ma*****na, pills, and $1,544 in cash.

This successful investigation was made possible through information provided by our community and the diligent investigative work of our detectives. Community tips play a vital role in helping law enforcement identify and address illegal activity in our neighborhoods.

As a result of the investigation, one male was arrested for
Drug Trafficking and Having Weapons While Under Disability.

The Cleveland Division of Police Canine Unit was recently gifted with two new ballistic vests for K9 Vader and K9 Scout. A donation was made through the Cleveland Police Foundation to Brady's K9 Fund, who worked together to supply these ballistic vests specificially fitted for our Canines. Thanks to the donor, the Cleveland Police Foundation, and Brady's K9 Fund, K9 Officers Vader and Scout are now properly equipped with vests to protect them from the hazards they may encounter patrolling the streets of Cleveland with their handlers. The donation was made in memory of Fallen Patrol Officer John L. Hubbell #121, who gave his life in the line of duty on June 4th, 1979. Patrol Officer Hubbell's memory will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of the Canine Unit and Division of Police! Thanks again to all those who made this possible.
