BREAKING & ENTERING SUSPECT ARRESTED

On May 22, 2026, Cleveland Police responded to an attempted burglary at an apartment building on Euclid Avenue and later linked the same suspects to a break-in at a nearby business where to***co products were stolen.

Through investigative work, detectives identified one of the suspects and learned a 56 year old male, he was responsible for multiple break-ins targeting the same business throughout the year. A Breaking and Entering warrant was issued, and on May 29, 2026, Third District officers located the suspect near E. 79th Street and Chester Avenue.

After a brief foot pursuit, officers took the suspect into custody on the Breaking and Entering warrant and an active parole violation warrant. The arrest is expected to bring an end to a series of repeat break-ins that had negatively impacted a local business and its employees.

Outstanding work by the Crime Scene Unit, Third District Detectives, prosecutors, and responding patrol officers whose teamwork, persistence, and proactive policing efforts led to the identification, apprehension, and arrest of this repeat offender

On May 21, 2026, at approximately 3:26 a.m., members of the STANCE Unit were actively patrolling the area of E. 55th Street and St. Clair Avenue when they observed a vehicle traveling at an excessive speed and failing to stop for a red traffic signal.

Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, identified as a Chevy Trax. During the stop, officers observed a large quantity of suspected raw ma*****na in plain view inside the vehicle.

The driver, a 41-year-old male, was detained and advised of his constitutional rights. As the vehicle was being towed, officers conducted an inventory search in accordance with department procedures and recovered additional suspected narcotics and drug-related paraphernalia, including:

• Suspected pressed narcotic pills
• Suspected ecstasy tablets
• Suspected crack co***ne
• Containers of suspected ma*****na
• Packaging baggies
• A digital scale

The male was issued citations for Traffic Control Signal Terms and Lights (Cleveland Codified Ordinance 413.03) and Maximum Speed Limits (Cleveland Codified Ordinance 433.03).

He was additionally charged with Drug Trafficking (Ohio Revised Code 2925.03).

🚨 CPOP INITIATIVE HELPS LEAD TO AGGRAVATED ROBBERY ARREST 🚨

On May 11th, officers responded to the 3900 block of St. Clair Ave. for an aggravated robbery where a victim was assaulted at gunpoint and his vehicle stolen. The suspect later crashed the vehicle and fled on foot.

Third District Violent Crime Reduction Team (VCRT) detectives launched an investigation and shared suspect images with district officers. Through Community Problem-Oriented Policing (CPOP) follow-ups, Neighborhood Response Group (NRG) officers were able to identify the suspect’s location, leading to the arrest of a 21-year-old male and recovery of a firearm.

Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost is asking Ohio Law Enforcement Agencies to pledge to commit to 250 acts of kindness in 2026.

Recently, a family became victims of a theft, leaving this young man borrowing shoes from friends just to keep doing what he loves most — playing basketball.

When Cleveland Police Deputy Chief Morris, Deputy Chief Schlacht & officers learned about the situation, they knew they had to help. Officers got him a pair of shoes & personally dropped them off. Now this young man has some new Donovan (“Spida”) Mitchell shoes 🏀

A simple gesture, but one with a lasting impact. That’s what community is all about.
